I have an epsilon arc and the only manual I have been able to find is the one on ca model's website (www.camodel.com.ar) The only instructions I can find are for taking the kit to arc form. There is no mention of how the the horizontal stab is to be fitted to the fuse. Surely there is more to it than sliding it in and gluing it because the only support for it will be the thin ply for the fuse sides. Am I supposed to sandwich a piece of balsa between the fuse sides at the stab cutout and sand to the shape of the cutout? Also how is the cowl supposed to be mounted (it doesn't fit over the firewall) Do I glue some ply ears on the firewall to mount it? If there is a full manual out there, I would appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction.

The models fly great but the instructions could use some help. I don't want
nor need a full step by step manual but something better that what they put out would be useful.
I have built the Epsilon & Widebody and am now building the Funky 40 fun fly model- that one had no fuselage plan at all, and the photos in the instruction sheet are so dark as to be unusable.
If you go to there website you can look at the manual online, it is clearer to read- but the content is the same.

As for the Epsilon, my stab is glued in & there is no addition support. I used hobby shop maple motor mount stock to make some mounting blocks for the cowl. A trick is to drill a small pilot hole when lining up the cowl, then in the blocks drilling out just enough to force in a short segment of inner (yellow) nyrod. Screws never loosen up no matter how often you need to remove the cowl.

Be careful when drilling into the firewall mounted blocks. If one happens to give way the drill bit may cut an elongated hole in the cowl before you catch it.

Mine was a kit, but the instructions stopped before the covering steps, so I faced the same issues.

I inserted the stab into the fuse, aligned it by setting equal distances to the wing tips, then glued reinforcing "corners" (perhaps tri-stock) around the inside of the fuse where it met the stab. Probably used epoxy. Seems rock solid.

To attach the cowl I made 4 "ears" out of solid ~1/4" stock (basswood, perhaps) similar to those shown in one of the pictures above. Drilled pilot holes through the cowl and into the ears. Enlarged the holes and tapped for #6 nylon bolts. Hardened the holes with thin CA and retapped. Enlarged the holes in the cowl with a small round file to accomodate the bolts. The nylon bolts are sticky in the CA holes and do not vibrate loose but are easy to remove.

I used rubber grommets for my cowl holes in the Widebody. I'll do the same on the Epsilon that I'm building.
