I am currently running Powermaster 15% (15% nitro with 18% oil as a mix of castor and synthetic) in all of my planes and was interested in finding out which fuel would be a good choice to use for both helis and planes.

I have:

2 x OS .46FX's
1 x OS .61FX
1 x OS FS-70 II

and will be getting an OS .32SX-H very soon.

I don't really want to have to cart two different types of fuel to the field, so I am looking for something that I can use in both my 2 and 4-stroke plane engines and also my 2-stroke heli engine.

I would prefer to stick with Powermaster as I can get it quite easily, but am open to Morgan Fuels too as I can probably get that also.

Any suggestions?

Hey Maverick: The word is that Down Under they are having great success with recycled Fosters in all glow engines. The second choice is Billabong Brew but its a bit hard on the bearings - Mate - No worries.

Try S&W fuels. THeir airplane fuel all have 20% oil and their fuel is cheap to order, only 13 bucks gallon for 20/20 type fuel.

Well over in the Oz nobody is dumb enough to drink that Fosters crap so they have to do something with it! I could never figure out why so many people in the USA think it is the best beer in Australia and that all the Aussies drink it!

Hi there,
I have been using 10% Nitro, 20% Castor oil and 70% Pure Methnol for the past 5 years on all my engines which include OS 46fx, 91fx, 32sx-h, TT36H, MDS 38H, OS91FS, OS70FS...I have been very happy with the performance.

Where I live in India, I have no access to synthetic oil so I blend my fuel (yes, home brew) with 100% castor. My planes and heli do get dirty and oily...but its something that can be cleaned and doesnt bother me much.

I use this fuel occasionally and found the weblink by using a search engine (google.com and searching for S&W fuel). Here is the website that came up:

Their 20% fuel is $13.00 a gallon and is 20% oil (2% castor, 18% synthetic)
