On the surface these two fuels seem to be very similar.

PowerMaster YS 20/20
Cool Power Pro-Pattern 20%

Can somebody please tell me what differences there may be in these two fuels?

Same difference between Shell gasoline and Exxon. Don't let fuel manufacturers trick you into believing that there are great and noticeable differences between fuels. Fuel is easy to make, methanol, synthetic or castor oil, and nitro, add a anti-foaming agent and you are golden. Of course don't forget the proprietary BS concerning lubricating packages, slickeners, and my favorite purity. I don't think my engine can tell if its fuel methanol is 99.9 or 99.99% pure.

The only noticeable differences I've noticed is oil content (percentage) and viscosity of oils. Low oil content and low viscosity oils may give you more power but probably at the cost of engine longevity.

Now, I've flown powermaster 20/20 and Coolpower 20/20 and here is how I made my choice as to which was better:

Powermaster 20/20 was much better when I lived in Texas because it was cheaper to get.

Coolpower 20/20 was much better when I lived in Alabama, because Morgan fuels was in same town I lived in.

So, get what's cheapest. In that case, try S&W fuel, you won't believe their prices!

FAI Fuel............$6.80 per gallon 25% Fuel............$14.00 per gallon
5% Fuel............$8.50 per gallon 30% Fuel............$15.00 per gallon
10% Fuel.............$9.00 per gallon or $330.00 per drum 40% Fuel............ $17.50 per gallon
12.5% Fuel...........$9.50 per gallon 45% Fuel............$19.00 per gallon
12.5% Helicopter Fuel............$9.50 per gallon 50% Fuel............$20.50 per gallon
15% Fuel...........$10.00 per gallon or $345.00 per drum 60% Fuel............$23.00 per gallon
20% Fuel............$13.00 per gallon or $485.00 per drum 20% High Peformance Car Fuel............$13.00 per gallon
20% YS Blend Fuel...........$13.00 per gallon

Run what you think is protecting your engine the best. With all the hype the above post mentions, it can get confusing.

I run into all sorts of folks that have been unintentionally misled by hobby shop owners and fellow fliers when it comes to proper fuel choices for a particular engine. Seems that nothing in our hobby causes more confusion, controversy and ruffled feathers than "glow fuel"

If you want to e-mail me with what your running, I will give you my best recommendation on types and contents of oil that will best suit your engine.

As long as you have the YS set up properly it wont care what fuel you run, but the instant you lean it out it wont matter what fuel or how much oil, you probably just reduced the piston/ring/liner life by a 100 or more flights. The best thing to do it set it rich and leave it rich, want more power bring 30% along with you.

Those prices would be WITHOUT the shipping charges. I called S&W this past Friday and spoke to the owner. He does not use UPS because of their outragous handling and shipping fees but uses a freight company.
Mr Wildcat: when you lived in "Bama, where you able to just walk up to Morgan's and purchase any fuel from them? Was it any cheaper than the retail prices? Thanks much!!!! John McGowan

Morgan fuels supports hobby shop owners and normally doesn't sell direct to the customer. Now, with that being said, Morgan's fuel will sell bulk fuel directly to clubs and may sell to an individual directly under the Mach 7 label (same stuff, different name).

Dear Mr wildcat i would like to know why it would cost 21.50 a gallon to get your 20/20 shipped to central Iowa to Hobby Haven my local shop. I am really interested in trying your fuel but for that kind of money i cant afford it I can get it at Hobby Town which is 1 mile from My local shop for 17.00 bucks a gallon ?? I think My local shop doesnt want to infringe on Sig fuels which is only 60 miles away >??? Bruce Swartfager Newton Skykings

Dear Bas,

First let me say that my name is Jerry Conley, President, Wildcat Fuels. There is another gentleman on this forum who is using the handle Mr. Wildcat and he is no way related to or represents Wildcat Fuels, Inc., that is not to say that any of his posts have upset or offended us in any way and I am sure he is a really nice person who has no ill intentions. I just do not want any misunderstandings. In that way his posts will not be looked on as biased in any direction. (Please Mr. Wildcat understand I am not trying to offend you or upset you in any way, on RConline a gentleman was going under the handle of "coolpower" and caused a lot of contorversy because people thought he was a Morgan fuels representative). As for the fuel prices, we can only set our dealer prices, and they are usually lower than our competitors, the hobby shop has the final word on pricing and sometimes sets the prices higher than I would like to see. If you go to your dealer and tell him there are more competitive prices somewhere else I am sure he will listen to you. I have met David and he is a fine gentleman that I think would work with you.
