Ok guys, I haven't built a plane for 2 years, But the new OMP Fusion has really got that something to make me come out of building "retirement"
Omp just keeps comming out with new designs that fly well and thats making it tough on us guys that don't build much!
This thing is truley a work of art, like a puzzle. The fuse side are a combination of 1/16 basla interlocked into plywood, and everything fits so well this might be just fun to build! One warning though, you might not want to leave this kit around your Grandma, she might think its a puzzle and go to work on it!, On the other hand maybe you ought to leave it out and it will be built in the morning.
This shows the interlocking pieces and the finished fuse sides.
If you use pull-pull on the elevator then you'll only be doing inside loops. Occasionally you'll want to push as well!
Just kidding. No this does not use pull-pull cables on the elevators. The kit comes with a torque rod system that works both elevators from one servo. The first dozen kits went out with a solid carbon shaft which has been determined to flex too much from side to side. This needs to be replaced with an 8-32 bolt instead and 8-32 nuts to secure the control horns. Alternatively two elevator servos can be used. The manual does explain the installation and use of two elevator servos also.

The gorrilla glue foams and expands greatly as it cures. This is the reason for the weight so it doesnt slide around as it expands. I am going to use 1/8" robart hinge points, is there anything else?

Maybe a dumb question but, why do you have to have that much weight on it?
