Ugh... 5.0L V8 + 3.10$ gas = wes have no money for r/c

My mom is currently freaked out about what the news said... "Gas prices could see 6$ before this is over..." If it hits that, then there going to have to institute marshal law all over the US!

Tuesday, Gas was $2.29. I drove an hour south to a customer meeting, and it was $2.79 there.

I got home, and filled my truck. Then I went home and got our conversion van, and every portable tank I have, for $2.29 a gallon. While I was filling the portable cans, the station manager went out and changed the price to $2.59 a gallon. While I was standing there with the pump in hand.

Had I waited until this morning , I'd be paying $3.79 a gallon at the same gas station. Now, some smaller stations are running out of fuel all together. The governor is discussing a plan to ration fuel, as the price is expected to top $5.00 by this afternoon.

This is SCARY stuff guys. The storm has affected everybody in the country.

I'm actually glad it has. The sooner we are weened of our dependance on gasoline and the Middle East, the sooner alternative fuels will be embraced. The prices hurt, but the long term benefits will be better for us.. What is amazing me is how quickly prices went up. Serious price gouging going on here...

I was reading on CNN about how some EE tinkerers had upgraded the storage cells on their hybrids to give 250mpg... 250MPG! That's insane, and I want one. My next car/truck will be 100% gasoline free if it's available.

As some of you might know, Im getting a 250 desel, at first that sounds crazy, but there is a company up in arlington that turns your desel truck into a truck that runs off of food grease for around 1,000$ Im sereously considering doing that... just poor some crisco or somthing down your tank and go!

Well, there's a car dealer down the road from us here, that took a 2002 ford expedition in on trade just a few weeks ago. It's been on hte lot with a big green sign saying " Clean 2002! $15,995! "
When I walked by to get my morning cup of coffee and doughnut this morning, (it's a mile and a half from my house to 'Hometown Bakery and Confections, yes I walked! ) the used car manager was painting the new price on the windshield.

If you can afford the gas, Seretti Chevrolet is selling an 2002 Expedition with a 5.4 litre triton engine for $8300....

If these prices continue, you're going to have people abandoning their SUV's!

I heard that $6 a gallon is proable to...you know what this means? The cost of everything will go up, since 97% of the products we buy are shipped by diesel burning trucks. And if the cost of food, water and other items go up, no one will want to buy them, which means, we could have another great depression! (At least thats what the news said)

My mom said that I can only go to the LHS once a month (its 10 miles away) so, tomorrow, I'm gonna buy like $60 worth of stuff ranging from airplane fuel, to car parts. If O'Donnel RTR fuel gets to $30 a gallon because shipping it is so much, I might haveta sell my RC10GT on consignment at the LHS and get a brushless T4
