holy crap, my first car is sitting in the driveway, a 71 ford f100 longbed, big block 402, around 6mpg, i guess im gonna have to sell her, me and my dad were gonna restore it for when i get my liscense in a year, now gas prices are gonna force me to sell it, this is ridiculous, i want gas prices to go down, im so mad right now with the gas prices, it just ticks me off, were gonna have another depression, thats just frekin wonderfull, stupid hurricanes, those frekin people should have evacuated, i have no pitty for those ingnorant people, especially looters taking adavantage of everyones bad situation,

the people that could not get out no matter what then i understand but the majority of louisiana are ignorant trash that are on welfare for generations, they had a weeks warning to get out, but they were on their porches drinking saying " oh no, that hurricane aint gon touch me, im too good for a hurricane, my welfare check still hadnt come in, this country sucks blah blah blah" im 50 percent blood cajun, so im a cunas, my other half is texan, so i know what its like down there, but my family pushed themselves up many generations ago,

im just mad right now, so im gonna go chill out, drive my rc car to calm me down, and look at my poor f100 in the driveway begging for a carbuerator, i have to say no f100 i cant drive you because the frekin coorperations are running our economy and gas is 6 bucks a gallon,

If you really like your F100, put it away till brighter days. If you need to drive it, put on some standard wheels and tires, throw on a nice rebuilt 2bbl and be nice to the gas pedal. Long drives are out of the question though. Consider getting a decent used 4 cylinder car, like a newer escort or focus.

Last year, the place I worked for was almost 30 miles away. I earned a marginal paycheck, but at that time, gas still wasn't high enough to keep me from driving. I don't work at that place anymore. Doing the math, I figured that half of my paycheck would be going into fuel alone. Not to mention the wear and tear and lots of milage on the Odometer. Now I earn less but I only have to drive 2 miles to where I work now.

Even though it doesn't get very good gas milage, nothing will take me away from my Bronco.

Right now everything may seem negative, but eventually things will get better, you'll see. And if and when the day comes that we simply run out off fossil fuels, we have alternatives. There are other ways to get those wheels to spin.

dude im only 15 i dont have a permit yet, but i sitll drive everynow and then, ive already put a 2 barrel on it but it was a used one so it needs a rebuild, also ive unhooked the underdrive gear because that sucks up alot of gas, but im still only gettin an average of about 10mpg, my dad and i are gonna drive up to look at a celica gt with a small 6 cylinder in it, its a 82 but it needs some electrical work and i think it has high miles, im also been offered a 95 jeep grand cherokee with lots of options and its a very nice truck but the transmission is gone and the only gear it has is reverse, its a good deal because he only wants 1000 bucks for that nice cherokee, but its gonna cost me 900 to rebuild a tranny, then who knows how long till the motor needs a rebuild??

i don't like styx-nor do i listen to them...i just have to when me and my parents drive to the camp sites and when we drive to my grandmothers house-it's annoying..but there is only one good song if it is good at all...but i have heard these songs thoughout my life on this trips...it kinda "styx" in ur mind...but i don't expect most of u to agree with my thoughts becuz bush's plans work with ur lives...in the west coast we have different needs--most of our poulation lives by the ocean cuz we have more native american influence with being drawn towards water...we also have many docks and barges all along the west coast-we have major trade over here form china, japan...korea...russia..........etc.-probly just about all the supplies america gets from the countries i listed have been imported throught seattle....san fransisco alot of the west coast cities...and that makes us terrorists targets for more reasons...and that scares us--easterners deal more with this natural disaster stuff and for us westerners stuff the only real natural disasters we have to worry about is like volcano erruption-like washington has mt st helens (which i have climbed twice ) and earthquakes--and if there isn't much damge from the quakes then it is fun to have--we don't have hurricaines or many tornados and we can better predict quakes and erruptions then easterners can predict tornados and hurricaines...we deal more with international threat

Man, dont worry about terrorism, I live about 15min out side of washington, and about 10min out side of the pentagon. What will happen will happen, the only thing you can do is prepare, prepare, prepare.

And as for racism, thats total garbage any-one who argue's that is, is very ignorant.

I agree totally. The fact that the people down there are black has NOTHING to do with the fact that it takes time, DAYS in fact, to mobilize that much manpower and supplies. I'm surprised it got there as soon as it did. FEMA was already getting prepared when the thing was a cat 3, but it takes time to get everything in order. I will say this though.. The looting and acting like animals is nothing NOTHING to improve things, and public opinion of the survivors is dropping. I saw one woman on TV griping cuz her wellfare check wasn't going to come because of the storm. She said something to the effect of "Today is payday, and I can't have my check" Well lady, if you get off your lazy rear end and stop cranking out babies to stay on wellfare, life might not be so bad. Black, white, yellow, red, whatever, that's a piece of trash that society could do without.

Speedmonkey, you're on target. There is/was a society that evolved down there that was 90% dependant upon the government for their survival. Now that Katrina has done her thing, they're 100% dependant. What does this mean to louisiana? It means they get to shuffle their problems off onto other states, PERMINATELY! Those people will not be back anytime soon. Do you think they'll focus their efforts to rebuild the "projects"? Not happening. New Orleans has essentially had Katrina flush the toilet for them and after the redesign of the infrastructure to accomodate and prevent future catastrophys then that just might be a nice place to live. Especially without all the gangs, murders and rapes and corruption that goes on there everyday. But you wait. That's gonna be a new town that it'll be desirable to live in. That's one way to clean it up I guess.

i thought about that too, all the water washed all that crap and trashy people down the toilet, if you sit on your but making babies for 3 generations just so you can live off of the government and make the lives of those kids miserable then you deserved what oyu got, and that is 95% of the population down there, they deserved it, all of the hardworking people down there had some kind of insurance and were smart enough to get out, orb atleast some kind of savings, those blacks had nothing but cheap liqor, now they got a whole lot of free stuff from walmart and clothes and shoes and crap from looting but they are still complainning that country owes them somthing for being black,

PEOPLE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RACISM, in todays society the racists are the black people themselves, dont get me wrong i still donated 50 bucks to the disaster relief even no i dont have a job or anything, all i can do is mow grass, but im still working for what i got and im only 14 10/12 years of age,

Whens the last time you saw a clans-men? They hardly exsist today, much less do anything. Im from alabama, every think that place hate black people and all, no, we dont. Some of my best friends are african amarican.

If you know of people making fun of your friend because he is mixed or what ever, then yes thats wrong if there not just joking with him, and his parents could sue countless people for that kind of stuff. I can only speak for myself, and I know that if someone were to say ANYTHING to ANYONE conserning there race (slander, ect.) I would be the first there to show that "someone" what a can of Virginia whoopin means.
