The wire in the YS DZ-1.70 CDI photo is for the spark trigger. I just got a FS-91S-FI. I'm looking forward to trying it.

I suspect that would be a throttle position sensor to make the fuel injection more accurate, that's just a guess though.

Oh, so those pictures are not off your workbench? I was marveling at how clean your workbench is compared to mine.

FI for a spark engine would be great because you already have to have the electronic ignition module and battery anyway. So you add an extra couple of wires for the injection system and you're all set. That might be feasible from a cost/complexity point of view. Plus the FI would incorporate the function of fuel pumping and pressure regulation!!!

OS electronic fuel injection is a nice concept, but judging from the instructions manual, the tuning of the injection system is something complicated and aimed for experienced modellers. However, I believe that if the simple glow carb was inadequate, electronic fuel injection would have taken its place (just like in automobile engines). Talking about fuel injection however, what makes 4 stroke YS engines system a "fuel injection" system?

As the grand number keeper for the Club Saito membership, I bestow upon thee the following:

KenD is the new member #773

Furthermore, as punishment for sandbagging us all he has to cough up one Saito of his choosing to me.

Guys i want some feedback on running an intake velocity stack on my Saito FA-80.

I have no complaints so far from the engine and minimal fuel drops escaping from the carb while the engine operates.....

I was looking the other day my FA-150S and FA-180GK and noticed the difference.

Anyone that has tried this unit on this particular engine;

In a similar question to what Kostas1 asked, how about a velocity stack on my Saito 82 mounted inverted.. Will the velocity stack have any negative effect by 'collecting' fuel that might otherwise be ejected from the air intake?

Bob

The collected fuel would be compensated for by the needle and therefore become a plus.

For what it's worth, the 180 and 220 are the only singles that come with velocity stacks from the factory. I am not sure if the carbs/manifolds are designed to include them as opposed to the other engines that don't come with them?

All the 120's and 150's come with velocity stacks from the factory also.
