I have four Saitos, a .56 in a Sig Rascal 40, a .65 in a 1/5 scale Sig Cub (built as an L-4B), a .72 in a Hangar 9 Cub (80 inch wing) on floats, and a .80 in a Sportsman Aviation UPF-7 WACO. Three of the four are inverted, run great. I'll never own any other glow engine, unless I get the flat four OS. I use 15% cool Power or 15% Sig 4-stroke, depending on availablity. Don't have any pics of the Cub on floats, not quite finished yet.

I have probably had more Saitos apart than most people have owned. Do I qualify for membership?

Bill.

Started with a 30. Love it. Added a 72 then the new 40 then 100, then another 30 and another 40 (for twins). Just got a Saito 72GK recently. Great engines if you take the time to set them up. Have heard people complain cause they're not "gas and go" engines, oh well more for the rest of us.

Suffice it to say all my normal 4s engines are Saito, but no Saito radials.

Like khodges though, I lust after the OS flat four, the only OS I'd consider getting.

Bill.

Hello; I have many Saito engines, I was setting my new Gee whiz Bee this week I have 2 45's, 2 45s's, 2 earlier 50's and a current 50. I also have a earlier 40 with the one piece head barrel. I have a 56 as well. I had 9 small case Saito's. That doesn't include the 30, the two 65's the 2 80's, the 91 the 100 or the 100 twin. Then there is the 120s and the 150 I haven't opened yet.

I got a Saito 45 in '91, and used it for years and years, replaced 3 con rods, 3 back covers, 3 sets of bearings, the barrel/head, pushrods twice, main crankcase, when I broke a mount beam off. Two pistons, adn one rocker, I don't remember how many glo plugs. I still have it but it has been retired for 3 or 4 years now as I have moved into bigger planes.

I was flying my Funtana today, that Saito 100 is a great engine, fun to use. Surely that should qualify me for membership in the SAITO club.

I only have one Saito and it is a .91 in a Accel hobby Katana GS70. What a great motor. This is my first four stroke and I love it. Never had such a good running motor before. Going forward, money permiting, a saito will be on any plane that I build.

I have the 56, 72, and 82. The 91 is next in line and I may buy that in a week or two.

My 56 sounds like a Harley putt putting on final.

Everybody posting pictures, I supose I should too.

UltraStick 120/Saito.

Didn't say what size, depending on the mood or laziness it will have a 120, 150, or 180. It flies fine with the 120, more power is not needed. Picture is an old FA-150.

Bill.

Hi, Have had a Saito 120, but for now only a NIB 82 and a 180. Both the 120 &180 has been easy starter. I never used a starter on them, only one or two backflips needed .

Hmm! Got 4 saito 1.20's, 1.80, 2 - .56's, and a .91. Only the .56's are'nt being used at the moment. They're going into a MAN 96" C-47. The 4 1.20's will eventually go into a Don Smith B-29, distant project.
Is out member number our first post number?
Edwin

I have a Saito .91 on a Hangar 9 Ulta Stick with a Perry pump, just breaking it in. Runs great and flys super. It is not a Golden Knight but I added the velocity stack and it really keeps the open fire wall clean and improves the fuel consumption. I also have a Magnum .91 four stroke, an OS 70 Surpass II, Magnum .52 and a Magnum .30. All are great engines if taken care of.

Love those four strokes !

Cheers,

Chip

I have an older, high compression .80GK...a 1.00...and a 1.80

The .80 has been modified some...
I cleaned up the ports...which is a fun and challenging thing to do reaching in thru the bottom of the cyl. w/ a Dremel carbide, w/o nicking the valve seats...(being able to hold your breath for extended periods helps there)
I also made a "custom" header out of mild steel automotive gas line and had a buddy chrome plate it for me
