I picked up a pro peak prodigy charger which offers both charging and discharging for all kinds of batteries. It also has cycle modes. Can anyone give me some pointers about charging and discharging cells??

I have
6volt receiver packs 1200MAH
7.2 volt 3000mah nimh stick packs
7.2 volt 1800mah stick packs
9.6 volt 1800mah radio pack

can anyone offer me advice on the charging rate for each and the discharging rate? Or can you advise me how to calculate this? I've never had a charger with these options and have always discharged batteris by leaving equipment on but it's not a good way to look after your batteries?

Help would be appreciated?

Status: offline 		for your small radio batts use a rate of 1/4 - 1/2 capacity

If your others are sub C's then use between 3-5 amps.

discharge is not really necsessary.

Unless you want your batteries to last as long as possible between chargings.

If you use 3-5 amps charge you reduce your batteries lifespan.
Only charge with more than 1/4-1/2 capacity on any type if you are in a hurry.
And if not in a hurry then you should discharge first.
The first five to ten times you charge, it's an advantage if you discharge every time.
