Status: offline 		I have just purchased a big Moki 2.1 and was considering mixing my own fuel. Methonol & castor. Where can you buy this stuff?
Can you get it from the local fuel distributor?
What grade of Castor? Will Medical Castor work? Might even have some of that around.

Status: offline 		Considering mixing my own fuel myself. I found a local distributor of VP racing brand methanol and nitro by checkint their website. Sig and Klotz both sell castor oil as well as synthetic oils. I don't have their web sites handy but you should be able to find them on the web. Also check out go-cart and motorcycle web sites for castor oil. Don't use medical oil, it's expensive and not degummed. It would make a good after run oil though. With the popularity of sprint racing in Indiana I would think you wouldn't have to go far to find the supplies locally. Here in Atlanta its mostly stock cars, drag racing, and sports cars. The drag racers buy in quantity so I only found one small shop on the other side of town, though I didn't call everybody in the book. I will probably get serious next spring and dig further.

Status: offline 		Onewinglow.. At one time Cenex distributor could get methonol. Had a cousin in potlatch that worked for them don't know if they still do. You should be able to find a place there or in Clarkston that deal with powerboat racing. I know that the HobbyTown here sell caster oil so I would guess the one in Moscow would too. Status: offline 		I found a racing go-cart / motorcycle shop that sold a castor synthetic oil mix from Morgan's. I think they were in Norcross. Try a Yahoo yellow page search, maybe there is one on the southside. Any speed shops on the southside? You have to look them up and call around. There is a VP distributer in Cherokee co. Don't know if they sell castor but I think they sell Ucon synthetic as it is used by drag racers, you might try to look one up on the southside. Maybe they can mail a small quantity.

Status: offline 		I buy my methanol at the local micro sprint race track. You can also probably find it at a gocart or stockcar race track. I found the cheapest place to buy oil is from Morgans Fuel. They only sell their fuel to dealers but will ship their oil by the gallon to the public- way cheaper than Klotz.

Status: offline 		For Methanol......go to a tire shop that does big tractor tires........they use methanol instead of water for weight......

A friend used to mix his fuel for a converted weedwacker engine on glo........got it in 5 gallon cans from the local tire shop......

Don't hurt to ask........
