Does that include ASP and SC they are made by the same company, S.Y.Machinery. I would post a link to their site but it seems be a waste of time at the moment.

Here's my 160twin, it sounds awsome.

Anybody still flying one older than this? Not sure exactly how old now, but I think it's at least 25. It's a 25 GP, one of the engies built by TT before the production was taken by SY machinery.

Bill.

I made the mistake of buying a Magnum once when I was really really poor, and regretted it . I had nothing but problems with it . If I couldnt afford a good engine, I would rather just wind up a rubber band and hook it to my prop rather than buy another magnum

Well , this engine was modified not leak straight out of the box. No I never sent it in for warranty repair. but maybe I will in the winter. This engine has successfully caused the plane in the pic to crash 5 times. Ok maybe 3 and the other 2 where due to poor dead stick landings but that's the story of my MAG .28 XL engine.

About 13 years old.

I call it the C-3/10, it's a bashed Hobbistar 60.

Never crashed.

Two XL 46 Magnum engines with Perry pumps.

Never a problem.

Bill.

Mr. Hobbs with all do respect, never say never. There are many products RC related that can and probably has made a come back after the manufacturers have sat down and decided how to better their products.

All I need is for MAG manufactures to realize there is a number of problems with their engines and state what they are doing to fix the problems and I will be sold. Something like a free new engine if any defects are found with in a certain time frame.

They could try. the selection is getting smaller, with SuperTigre and Irvine down the tubes, I can still get Fox's, Saitos, Enyas and the occasional OS. I just bought a black Irvine .53 while still available made in the UK. I have a pretty good supply of MDS's too, about 13 I think.

Hobbsy:

You will find more people condemning the MDS than Magnum. I've not had problems with either brand.

Bill.

Although I am a saito man, hey good screen name, anyway, my magnum 61 fourstroke runs perfect even with low compression, no complaints... some can make a good engine look bad, and some can make a bad engine look good, JMHO. the mag is more on the good side.

I got a magnum gpa 40(reasonably powerfully for a 40) and a magnum 1.20 4 stroke, I did have a magnum .52 mk11, but sold it before running it, in favour of a Jett .46, but I have had no problems at all with my Mags.. good power for the price..can't complain

cheers
Roger

Bill I was given one of those at the field to fix(40 gp) looked very similar to my new tt25gp and of course it said "made in R.O.C" on the backplate, it had ingested some swarf or something and was a mess inside. On the second flight aftet I got it going it hit the ground so hard that it was reduced to bits(I didn't see it happen just heard about it).
