You might contact a more local battle group, I am sure they would love to have new targets to sink.

http://www.ausbg.org/meetings.html

They would have access to British, German, Japanese, Italian, and American ships.

Below, they have sunk the HMS Lyon.

Hi,

Not trying to sound mean or anything, but I think you'll find free plans to be few and far between. Creating a set of ship plans is difficult and time consuming, plus printing out large sheets can get expensive. Most individuals who draw up plans make little to no money in profit. Building an RC warship is expensive, and probably the smallest expense will be the plans...

That depends. Some don't have any problem at all, others fry. Those that might fry are usually enclosed in watertight boxes, or painted/dipped with a waterproof coating. You generally want to take appropriate measures, but these vary with what each individual thinks is appropriate, how much space they have in the ship, & how much money they care to spend. Many servos, I just consider to be expendable. Oddly enough, I've found that the cheaper ones seem to last longer. Radio receivers, I'll either box or coat. Waterproof ESCs are available off the shelf. Motors don't mind water.

Continuing off subject,

My boat was sunk three times at nationals last year, and each time it came back to fight again.
My biggest problem is not the electronics, but getting the water out of the magazines, loaders and guns.

I should go on to say, that after the fourth sink, my ship was tired of the whole under water thing, and needed a good drying out. It did come back the next day for a few more battles.

We did post this thread a few years back...
