keep going until you run 2-3 gallons through it, then you can switch to synthetic and it will spit all thatr crap out and chocolate coat.

it will spit and spit for awhile, but it will pull like a horse

Swiched over to Castrol Racing Synthetic this week end and what a difference from the sooty mineral crap.
Got about 10liters through it with mineral 2stroke.
could still probably lean it out a touch.

Oh if the 5-5-1 dosnt work, there is either no fuel or no spark,

Thanks to all for the good tips and advice on this superb motor.

Hi,

I just wanted to share a little factoid with you guys. My ZDZ Tach. will not work with my ignition setup. I have a Smart-Fly fiber optic ignition cutoff that goes between the ignition and the switch. The problem is that it interrupts the signal wire. With out a signal from the ignition to the switch, the Tach. reading stays at 0. I am going to try a jumper signal wire across the ignition cutoff with the permission of RC Showcase and Smart-Fly. No one is sure that it will work, including my self, but all seem to think it will not hurt anything or void any warranties. I’ll post again when I complete the job.

Brian

I dont know of one. start from the other templates and draw an X on the motor box. the measure the zdz corner to corner and place the holes along that line equal distant from the old holes. It may fall off the line but you will be able to place it equa distant from the x. see my pic.

As far as the cutout, it took alot of trial fit with a paper template for the carb cutout.
