hey saleens - will take some pics this evening or tomorrow i hope. as regards specs - rc system is from graupner - that was a bit expensive, the servo is included though ;-). the motor is a brushless i got from HK and so is the speed controller - towerpro 70A. these ESCs are a bit finnicky so it'll take you a while to program it - it's not impossible though. drive shaft, couplers and props are by graupner too. As regards steering hardware i made it myself from aluminium strips...the pics will give you a better idea...

all the best,
andrew

dariomonguio, nice boats and nice vids. It would be good to get a closeup of the boat you are about to run, just before you run it. I could only see what two of the three boats were. One a rigger and two a Wave Shark. But what was the other boat?

Wow, nice curves on the rigger. Did you make that from scratch or was it a kit or something? Thanks for the pics. You have that nqd scooting along pretty good.

If anyone has scrapped their high winds motors and want to get rid of them, I fried mine in an attempt to make a rescue boat and need some new ones, but all the 380's & 480's I am finding are more than I am willing to spend on a cheap, homemade rescue boat. Would anyone be willing to sent them to me at no cost. I would prefer not to pay shipping but will if it is necessary.

ps-regular ground shipping, not 30$ overnight air

Newbie post:
I've seen a lot of posts concerning upgrades to the 757, but none have been UK specific, I bought my boat on ebay for £30. I just thought I'd put up the links for the upgrades I've done to my boat and will post photos shortly:

7.2V Ni-cad 2100 maH battery packs £9.99, I would recommend two just so that you get extra time on the lake/pond. I would n't recommend anything beyond 2400 maH cause you'll fry the ESC:
http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=7.2v+battery+packs&category0=

Jamara Pro 480 motors £4.95, again two of each:
http://www.e-flight.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=477

Robbe flexible couplings, bought both these and the heavy duty, TBH it does not make that much difference £2.40 each for the flexible, £5.99 each:
http://www.pandanmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_copy_of_Prop_Shafts_and_Rudder_Assemblies.html

If you want to use a different charger the Ansmann ACX2 delta charger £14.39:
http://www.abcmodelsport.net/p347937/Ansmann-ACX2-2-Hour-Delta-Peak-Charger.html

It runs a treat and for a first project I'm quite proud of it. Thanks for the info provided on the forum to date.

Well, before i took out all the hardware, motor, etc. I was running with a venom 3600 mah nimh and although the motors and esc's smoked, they still work. well except for one of the motors, but i can hear the esc clicking when i throttle it.

by the way, dazzler441, did you plan on using the old 380's. I am willing to take them off your hands, i need them for a rescueboat. If so, then could you pay shipping??? if not, that OK im looking at a pair of 480's but the seller is not responding

Ran the boat today and noticed that the Jamara motors have 2.3 mm shafts, getting some slippage with the couplings I should have payed closer attention.
I have ordered the following to overcome that problem, which hopefully should sort this out:
Raboesch - 2.3mm Coupling Insert (2 of) £2.88
Raboesch - 4mm Coupling Insert (2 of) £2.88
Raboesch - Coupling UJ (Black) (2 of) £5.42

Saleens7, I'll find out the shipping costs and I'll let you know for the 380 motors.
