I suggest giving it more throttle in the turns, and throw it directly into the wind

Not to derail this thread, but I was just at Target looking for yet another aero ace when I noticed a new air hog plane advertised on the front of the store shelves. It was an Air Hog dual pusher f-16! Now I looked all over and asked but they were not in stock. Checking the air hogs page, there is no mention of it there nor anywhere else I can see. Howerver back at Target, sure enough a picture and description. Pic shows a rather decent appearing F-16 with dual pushers (like the aero ace) and a description saying it's for advanced pilots, "Are you ready for the challenge?" or something similar.

Soooo we may have a new little toy to play with soon!

Probably the wind but you may have to trim the rudder a bit. If it still does not climb you may also have to trim the tail flaps a hair.

The instructions mention all that.

The silver stickers go on the movable portion (after you cut the slits) of the tail and rear wings. This way when you tweak the control surfaces to trim the plane the metal will bend with it to hold the position. These really help get the plane trimmed properly.

Yeah, for me it helped alot to use the aluminum stickers to hold the flaps in place. I added a 1/2" screw to the nose of mine and it flies perfect. At 1/2 throttle it levels out perfectly and full throttle climbs great without the porpoising. The only thing is I can't seem to get it to turn any quicker. I've turned the motors in different configurations but it doesn't seem to make any difference in the turning radius. If I could get it to turn sharper it would be even more fun. One more thing. Even with different trim setting on the plane and the controler, it always turns right sharper than left. Who knows.

Howdy Aero Ace fans . I got mine yesterday after stumbling on this post a couple weeks ago . I have one flying season under my belt . I started with a T-Hawk went to a Space Scooter and then a .40 balsa trainer and then a Duraplane .40 trainer with an Os .46 AX engine . I got hooked on the glow planes and still am . I always wanted an electric back yard flyer even though I am into the glow now . We have 2 local TRU who both had allot of Aero Ace's at Christmas . I had one 2 channel plane the Aero Bird Scout which I am sorry but it sucked . I was very leary spending even $30 on another 2 channel plane till I read how happy you are all with them and saw the awesome videos . One TRU sold out and the other had 1 left . I couldn't believe how small this plane was when I opened the box and I thought oh brother what did I waste my money on . I charged the little guy up went outside and what a blast . It would be great if it had 3 or 4 channel control but then it would cost a whole lot more . This is my 2nd day flying it and even though it can't handle any wind I flew it in 8mph then 4mph winds in my back yard . I can't believe I can stand on my patio and fly the little guy in my back yard with trees and all . For a 2 channel I was able to control the AA quite well . I like it the way it is but I have read about the mods of making it a mono wing and putting that wing as an extension on the top wing . If I do these mods what do I gain ? Will it handle more wind ? Will it still be as easy to control in a small area ? I can't do aerobatics with this little guy but flying around my 1/2 acre yard with trees and garage and house is a challenge and a blast

removing the bottom wing will make it a bit faster, require a little more throttle to gain altitude, and handle a little more wind. on the flip side, adding the bottom wings to the top wings will do basically the exact opposite. also, adding the bottom wings to the top may make your turning radius a bit larger too.

here's a little plane i made today with the AA's electronics. its a tandem wing design, 6" long wings, 2" chord, AUW of 12 grams. it flys amazingly slow, but very fragile, so i made another one using all 1/16" balsa. doing that gave me one more gram in weight, but i can live with that, plus i need the extra streangth when i fly at work (concrete + balsa = little balsa bits. d'oh).

Geez Micro...I think NASA is hiring.
Proud to say that I'm still flying my first AA after 6 months.
Here's the old video for those of you who are new...

for as often and easily as i crash my planes, i dont think NASA would want anything to do with me...except maybe a test pilot

i got the X-Twin version of the AA (the original version from over seas) on ebay before most states had them. i got the two pack, one bipe version and one mono wing. i've used and abused both since the begining of august and and have made tons of differant planes with them, and i just now i had one of my RX's die on me. thats a heck of a lot of punishment to handle for a 30 dollar RTF!

The HX242 Dragonfly King has a Wall charger that is compatible with the Aero Ace Plane, and it will charge your plane. You'll only have to use AA's for your transmitter.

Big Milo - Finally found the Thill lights but had to order them. How did you attach them to the plane? Also, can anybody suggest a small, relatively inexpensive digital scale and the location where it can be purchased.

I was a local "Wally World" (wal-mart) yesterday to pick up some 'women's Items" for the wife. Found 6 AA sitting up on the top shelf. I didn't bring my wallet, and only had 20 bucks with me. I'm heading back tonight to get one. (I stashed 3 in different locations about the store, One behind the "women's items", one behind some sweepers, and one behind some pots and pans) Now just guess which store they are at and beat me to it, and you can have your pick!

Lucky, they had six! All in one sotre!?! It toke me 2 weeks to find mine and that was the last one they had! . but this thing flys great! youl seriosly have a blast. the only thing is it cant handle a lot of wind, its just to small of a plane. also what i had to do with mine was i had to glue a penny to the nose so it would have level flight a full throttle. but otherwise this plane is soo much FUN! it was wirth the wait!

i must say this is the best rtf plane on the market. my uncle had started flying years ago with much larger scale planes and recently turned me on to these. i was shopping with my girlfriend for x mas presents for all the kids in the family when i spotted one. it was at a toys r us. she got me the last one and instantly became the worlds greatest girlfriend. i was finally allowed to open it on x mas eve. it saw some real heavy fly time. from x mas till newyears i flew it every day. i looked everywhere for them. internet, ebay ,spinmaster(maker)...nowhere!!!! untill i got a phone call from uncle jimmy. he tracked em down to a location in jersey. 100 of them. i thought this was great untill my friend dave called. TARGET HAS THEM. go now he said. i had got a c freq for x mas. when he called and told me i went to target and got 2 a freqs, 2 b freqs, and one more c freq. i have weighted the nose with 1 1/2 finishing nails and removed the lower wings. i am now the " aero ace" and master of my air space. i will buy as many as i have room for in my house !!!!!!!!!! THE BEST FLYING YOULL EVER DO FOR UNDER 30 DOLLARS HANDS DOWN.
