I don't fly helis, but I am a seasoned sport pilot...I fly .60 size sport planes as if they were 3D airplanes. I actually like airplanes more than cars, because they can do more stuff. But they cost more

especially to crash. and take more time to fix. and aren't as tough. and risk getting blown away in high speed wind. and hurt if they hit you.

To tell you the truth, I like planes more than cars too, but I don't have the patience to mess with rebuilding them after a crash. I cringe at the site of monokote I HATE covering!!!

That said, I'm about ready to pull my hair out from messing with the shrike 400 I'm covering, but then again its mostly because the only white covering I had on hand was the crappy tower hobbies "towerkote" stuff which sucks... royaly.

I've actaulyl got scars on my right hand and arm from getting hit by a prop. Luckily it was just on a little EP 3d foamy plane going at about 1/2 throttle so their wasnt much oomph behind the prop to do much damage.

The good news: The Heli, ESC, and Gyro shipped out today Heli and ESC should be here wednesday, and the gyro should be here wednesday or thursday. The rest of the stuff should be here Thursday or Wednesday at the earliest.

The bad news: a hurricane is coming my way (supose to hit towards the end of the week I think)

Heli, ESC, and Gyro came in today, but the stuff from Tower didn't (servo's, motor, etc.). The stuff from Tower is suppose to come tommorow, but with that damn hurricane the whole town is gonna shut down/Evacuate and therefore mail is gonna be delayed until who knows when

The heli looks pretty darn nice, all the parts look nice and beefy so it should be pretty durable. The only thing that looks weak is the tail boom, which is very thin walled aluminum tube. I'm gonna get a CF boom though, so I'm not too worried about it.

In other news, everywhere in town is either sold out of plywood, or they have a 150+ person line to get it, and only have a very small supply. We have a big pile of fence boards though, were gonna do what can with them and then just tape X's on the rest of the windows and hope none get broke out. My Dad's worried that top story of our house might crumble apart from the strong wind, so we're gonna go up to Austin or San Marcos untill the hurricane passes and just hope for the best.

I'll probobly get a chance to check the forums out later tonight, but tommorow evening were leaving so I probobly won't be on for a few days, maybe longer depending on just how bad we get hit.

I doubt it will be as bad of situation as it was in Louisianna even though the hurricane is just as strong (maybe stronger?), but if I find looters in our house when we get home, they had better run or I'll knock 'em out with my nunchucks
