Intake stacks and reverse rotation.

Many queries about part numbers for the stacks - not just for appearance, but also for a cleaner engine compartment and increased fuel economy.

There is no factory supplied stack for the FA-30 and the FA-40A.

The FA-56 and all mid block engines, that's the FA-56 up to and including the FA-100, use the SAI50GK93.

The FA-120 and FA-150 use the SAI120S93.
Only the FA-180 uses the SAI18093.

Bill.

Now for reversing the rotation. Twin fliers listen up.

Again, there's nothing for the FA-30 and the FA-40A engines.

The FA-56 is reversed by installing the SAI30T34 cam shaft.

Again, all the mid block engines, from the FA-65 up to and including the FA-100, are reversed using the SAI182TD34 cam.

All of the big block engines, the 120, 150, and 180, use the SAI300T34 cam to reverse the engine.

Hope somebody gets some good from these two posts.

Bill.

on these engines.. Between you and Jim I don't
think there is a better data base..
Thanks.

That's great Bill, Thank you! This is great, lots of good Saito Info in one post. Anything and everything would be appreciated by all of us Saito lovers.
How about some hop up tips?,
How to identify the older high compression models or ABC models?
How tight or loose is OK for the valve lash.
How can we quiet them down without losing power (My 180 with an 18x6 turning 10K is 98db at 10 feet)
Other various tips, tricks or troubleshoots.

Gary:

If you're talking about the free flow muffler pictured with the FA-120S and Hobbsy's FA-150, the part number is "NLA" - no longer available. Wont work on your engine anyway, it's a 14mm thread, your FA-100 uses the 12mm parts.

Go to Horizon/Saito/exhaust/12mm to see what's available for the FA-100.

Or give me a post where I mentioned a particular part, I'll get you the number.

Bill.

Bill, I need help replacing the front bearing on my FA-150 Saito. Do I have to disassemble the engine to take off the front bearing? There is fuel leaking between the front housing and the Taper Collet. I think the seal is broken on this bearing. Any help would be appreciated....Ken

Ken:

I answered this in the "Noisy Saito FA 100" thread.

Bill.
