not to bust yer balls mayhem but pick up "the ultimate Nitro tuning guide" it's about 20 bucks and will answer ALL your questions and help get teh car running.....if anyone is new to nitro I recommend that book to em.....it has helped cut the learning curve down to a weekend for most of my friends starting out......it's obvious from your posts you're caught in the learning curve, rather than ask people for help I find it better to research it on my own...the knowledge sticks better that way IMO.......

that's msrp but I bought a copy from my lhs for 16....I don't know if th at last post was intended as a dig or slam......but seriously, I've read some of your posts and most of your questions just come from being new to the hobby.....the reason people post on forums is for help either getting or recieving.....I am trying to help you by simplifying your learning curve...it is way faster to look up a problem in a book in front of you than to post and wait for an answer......

why don't you buy a kit and nice motor and then you can spend your time racing your buggy instead of posting all your problems. you think you have alot of posts now, if you keep you mayhem and post every problem you are going to have with it this server is gonna crash.

Out of curiousity, how many people have a mayhem rtr (or have ever had one) and it runs great and they enjoy it. I want to know if most people have a good experience or do most of them end up working on them all the time. Hell mine never ran, ever... Come on, i want to hear some mayhem stories.

I bought a mayhem rtr USED! It is awsome. I used to have on road nitro cars and a tmaxx but this by far is the best car I've ever had. It takes all the abuse I can dish out and comes back for more.

NIce pic...What have you upgraded on it?
I've SEEN guys at the track run em for a few months but then when they do a teardown and rebuild them they seem to start breaking alot......then they spend massive amounts of money to keep it going......

the only thing I've broken was the cooling head. I now have a americian cnc LST head. I do tear it down to the chassis once in a while to clean and pm. The only other thing I have done is added stiffer front springs. I run with a few other guys and the mayhem is always running and ready for action. when my buddies cars won't run or break I let them drive the mayhem for a bit. I think I got a good one. The motor keeps tune and I don't really break anything too often. We usually run on saturdays and I can seriously drive this thing like I stole it for 3 hours plus with out having to do a thing. By the end of the day I have to tighten a few screws here and there and change out the air filter often to keep the mixture the same. our track is very dust with loose dirt. here is a link to a video of when I first got it.

Looks good....I'm not sayin it's impossible to keep em running well if you know what you're doing....I can't vouch for their mechanical abilities......there's 2 guys at the track that race bone stock T-maxx trucks....they don't place very high but they are always running.....

Furnaceman you must have bought your mayhem from the guy on rc universe that did a review and said it was the nuts. I read everything i could get my hands on and it said get the mayhem. Everyone at the track and lhs said don't do it. I did it, mine didn't work. Lets hear some stories from other people. So far mayhem 1 me 0

I have a Mayhem and Love it. only problems I had with it running were all caused by the damn ROTOStart system once I went to the Starter Box it has been nothing but Air. I bought mine new and figured it would be a learning experiance which it has. I plan on putting an OS RG in it after I cash the stock .26 that came with it.

I purchased a new RTR Mayhem and I cant stop singing its praises. I knew ahead of time that there was a good chance important screws did not get lock-tite, so I took it apart and reassembled it. I'm still learning to race at our local track, but Im no slouch. The only thing holding me out of the A main is me. Im still not a smooth enough driver. There are a few other Mayhems, that are not as competitive as mine. I belive that is because those drivers dont take the time to maintain their car.

Bottom line for me... I'd recremend a RTR Mayhem for someone who wants to start getting into 1/8th buggies. I really like mine.

I bought a new Mayhem RTR...My first option is a Kyosho 7.5 But in the LHS they recomend to me Mayhem....really I never to hear about it. The final decision to take a Mayhem is because I but both car together and I see a lo of Hop-Up in the Mayhem.
I broke something, but I check carefull and more of them is my fault. Now I have more experience to re-assemply it and driv better. I cannt find problem in the car.
I used 5 gallon. The last three gallon the car cannt give me problem.

MM dont buy the "ultimate Nitro tuning guide DVD" is a huge waste of money !! I ordered mine about 4 weeks ago (I live in South Africa) and when it arrived i was really disappointed ! the book might be better, but the DVD was very short and i learned more from this forum than from that stupid DVD.

Raddick, let me think on that for a minute. ahh no. I took my mayhem to people with over 20 years experience in this hobby. One owns our lhs and track, and others with experience beyond my or your belief. I wanted to get a concensus on how other peoples mayhems ran and if more people had good experience with them or did they crap out like mine did. I have never dogged people about the mayhem, all i have done is maybe make a joke here or there and always end my comments with good luck or i hope your works better than mine. I don't have a problem with anyone who owns a mayhem, i just don't want people to leave this hobby or never really get into it because they spend alot of money on a buggy and the thing doesn't work. I was told by people not to buy it, don't do it you will be sorry, and i read on this message board and read reviews on horizon and other places and what i read did not line up with what i got. People need to hear of personal experiences on these things, that is the value of a message board. So if my honesty hurts you feelings i am sorry and i will not post honest experiences in posts that you start, but every other post i read, expecially the ones where i see new people wanting to get into this hobby and they are thinking about buying a mayhem, i owe it to them to tell them of real experienced and ask others to do the same. If this isn't what you are looking for in a message board, i guess you should look around for another one. But if i were you i would hope that alot more people like me would post like i post and like others post, something with value not little smart ass remarks or posts like the kids on the forum post, and one day you might read something that prevents you from wasting some of your or your parents money on an inferior product.
