I came across some 15% Green power fuel that was made by tower hobbies in 1989....still good?

Normally old fuel is OK, but maybe not that old!

What type of lubricant does it have?

Be carefull - If it contains castor oil it may have absorbed moisture over the years - and we all know water does not make engines run well...

If it is just for sport flying in a .46 or similar size engine it will be fine - so long as it has been stored out of the light in a cool place.

If it is for a Heli or something a bit more demanding - use it for cleaning your toothbrush... not worth the risk!

Joe,

My neighbor and flying buddy just finished his 3rd gallon of 20 year old fuel with out a problem. He used it in a variety of engines.

As long as the cap has been on tight and it hasn't picked up moister over the years, it should work fine.

If it is in an old metal can with a steel cap, I remember reading something about being careful of creating a spark with the cap when opening the first time.

I just got back into the hobby. I'm finishing up a gallon of powermaster 15% I bought in 1995. runs great, even though I used the first 1/4 in 1995/6.
As long as it was sealed and stored indoors, your old fuel should be OK. But, I would suggest running it in an airplane with a good glide ratio, at least the first few tanks!
