Hi Everyone,

My name is Steven Chao (with AON Electric). I have not gotten my hands on the MLST as of yet, so now I need a couple drivers who has or will have the MLST to help with testing. Give me a shout on my email (schao@aonelectric.com).

Peace,
Steven Chao,
AON Electric

I Just got mine yesterday. Great looking truck, and very nice design features. This is going to be the next small thing in RC, I'm sure there will be alot sold once the pics come out of actual use.

It is not that we don't have AON motors for them (K2815-5800). We actually designed that brushless motor approx 2.5 years ago. Unfortunately, there isn't any reasonably priced ESC in the USA market for bashers. I believe it is not reasonable to ask users to pay $300 for a sensorless controller to mate with our 1/10 scale motor... I wouldn't pay for it:O I don't expect other either. It just doesn't make any economical sense.

Some lower priced 1/10 car controllers are coming out at the end of this year and at the beginning of next year.

Peace,

First Impressions:

Shock that my local HobbyTown actually had them in stock; they had several in different colors. ($199.99)

Very well made, yes sir it was an LST, just a wee bit smaller and kind of like an E-Maxx as far as the twin motors go.

All my R/C gear, batteries, chargers, motor connection, ESC have been converted to Deans Ultra plugs so I soldered one on for the battery connector and connected a freshly charged battery I have for my Mini-T. Next, batteries in the Transmitter Tx and application of the frequency/LED decoder sticker to the back of the Tx, check the trim centering.

Turned on the Tx, turned on the Receiver, the steering servos centered themselves. I gave the throttle a small amount of pressure and all four wheels spun. This is where I noticed a problem. The right rear tire had a severe wobble, almost like the wheel nut was loose, it wasn’t. I removed the wheel nut and looked at the wheel hub mount; the drive pin was not centered in the hub drive and was bent from the wheel being tightened with the pin not centered in the indent in the drive mount. This left the wheel at an angle which when run slowly wobbled like mad, at full speed it would have eventually broken something and handled poorly all the time. I am glad I did a slow wheel spin test prior to running. I straightened the pin and remounted the wheel.

The next real and quick test was steering throw. The steering from end to end is fast, real fast (with D/R at max). One thing I noticed was that when turning the Tx wheel all the way left or right it seemed that the servos were at their end point and using some of their servo savers range. I have to say the steering is excellent. I will very soon swap the Rx with a spare I have for my LST and use its computer controller to set the steering End Points so as not to tax the servos and also to provide other nice features/adjustments. If I did not have this option I would be very happy with the Tx supplied, it is synthesized (and so is the receiver Rx), no crystals.

I would have preferred to have Hex screw heads throughout, however the installed screws were all tight and flush where appropriate.

I looked at the parts diagram for the diffs and it did not seem that they were sealed like the big brother LST. I feel that the diffs are too loose, more slip than I would prefer, though they are smooth. It would be nice to have the option to switch to diff fluid of different grades. Again…this is a minor complaint from a guy on the internet who has run this truck for all of two hours.

This MLST is fast and powerful. I have a Mini-T and a Mini Quake. I love my Mini Quake around the house, but I was shocked at how much better in every possible way the MLST is over both. Responsive, quick, powerful, well built, nice electronics, yet easily upgradeable if desired. This puppy seems like a natural racer and will sling the dirt over its immediate competitors’.

Hmmm……

RPM A-Arms, Aluminum Diff covers, Lunsford Ti anything….

What the heck, the radio gear alone is such a value being synthesized you could justify a few hop ups.

BillA, RC ScrewZ will be releasing a stainless steel screw kit on Friday. I e-mailed Keith Bergevin (RC ScrewZ owner) asking about the possibility of an Mini LST screw kit, and he said they WILL be making a screw set. I already preordered mine. Will be shipped out on Monday. Can't wait to receive it.

Faulty plugs I assume. Check the plug on your battery or ESC and see if the wire is stripped or melted.

No. Not likely. Maybe replace the damaged parts. This has been a known issue for months.

I thought I would do what a lot of other members fail to do: Post in an already existing thread rather than making another one and adding onto the hundreds of other threads all asking the same thing!!!... And revive this thread, seeing as though it hasn't been used since '07 and hopefully there will be less MLST threads!

So I just got a second hand MLST2 and it has the following:
-Exotek single servo conversion chassis
-Rear black wing
-Vacuum black rims
-Hitec steering servo
-alloy body posts
-buggy body
-CV's all round
-front and rear sway bars

I think thats everything.
Anyway, I'm after a BL system to run with it. I was just looking through my LHS site and came across a motor that I knew another member had used with good results, but then I found a larger version of it. I'm not sure if it will fit and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would
370 size motor: http://modelflight.com.au/eflite/eflm1000-5_370_brushless.htm
400 size motor: http://modelflight.com.au/eflite/eflm1100_park_400_brushless.htm

BTW, dont try to persuade me to buy a different motor because the one I want is discontinued and all the others from the US are to expensive because of our dollar.

Cheers, NB.

After some reading of horizons site
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLM1100
It looks as if everything including the motor overall diameter for the 400 is the same as the the 370. The only differenct being that the 400 is 10mm longer than the 370.
But can anyone confirm if the mounting points are the same for both motors?

Sweet , probably has a ball diff and DD slipper also . I belive the 400 motor might fit , but all you would need is the 370 .

I have a Quark 33 Pro Car ESC and a Losi 9400Kv motor in mine and it pulls wheelies on command .
