the aon is faster than the 6800 because the aon has more torgue which means you can gear it higher. one of the guys running a AOn in a minizilla is using a 30 tooth pinion with the stock spur.

the AON has insane amounts of torque

and anyway, no one ever said that the 8000kv is faster than the AON. i said it is faster than the 6800kv mamba.

Ok now your contradicting your self. For the mambas the higher the kv rating the lower the torque. So how can the 8000kv which has the least amount of torque be faster than the aon? And the 6800kv which has more torque than the 8000kv be slower than the aon ?

The 8000kv motor is the fastest in the mini-t or rc18t. but in this thing, the AON has so much torque, you can gear it up more for speed, and still have plenty of torque. the 6800kv will be using most of it's torque, so it will be slower the AON, but not as slow as the 8000kv, because all it's power will be used trying to get it to start moving, then once it winds out, it will go slower than any other motor, because all the power is going to be used trying to start it, therefore it overheats.

the 8000kv is for use in the rc18t and mini-t, because they are small. the 5400kv mamba will be the best choice, along with the 6800kv mamba, out of the mambas, but the AON is the best out of all of them, because of the insane amount of torque and power.

sure it won't go as fast as a 8000kv mamba fully wound out, but it won't over heat, and will accelerate much faster, and go close to the speed of the other mambas, and possibly faster

If anyone is interested here is a link to short article on KV and KT.
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3825/is_200406/ai_n9420013

Just try not to turn this thread into an argument about brushless motors, especially since there are already 36 pages on the Mamba in another mini and micro thread. Castle Creations can be contacted as well. I know I've emailed them, spoke with them over the telephone, and even met numerous Castle employees in person and the customer service has been great. I've also had the same opportunities with AON.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I wouldn't probably use anything other than a 540 and it would probably be a Novak brushless system at that.

Good find! and thanks TNB to for this article on KV and KT of the brushless motors. Great article!

I've been checking out this thread for the past few day and want to find out more info of the Mini LST but ended up with few pages of talking a lot about the brushless motors.

Well since first I've seen that the Mini LST is running by the TWO 370 motors, I was thinking that this little truck is gonna need a huge torque from the motors to push it start moving. And if I'm gonna put a brushless motor replace those twin 370 motors, it won't be a Memba or any other 280 sized brushless motor. Reason? They're gonna cog and cog and cog like crazy from starting to run and at every turns. This Mini LST is just too heavy for any 280 sized brushless motor.
Everyone here would have known that the 370 motor has a lot of torque. And how much torque will it be from the twin 370 motors?
The suitable brushless motor for the Mini LST is at least 400 sized brushless motor. And I already have a 400 Outrunner ready for the Mini LST when it's out. If not powerful enough, I also have the Team Novak SS5800 ready for this job. lol

TNB i wouldnt use 540 either but it seems its the best solution for this truck etc...

Dont you think the 540 will push this truck's weight up too much to handle as well as it does with the stock gear?

I seem to remember 540 motors being pretty hefty compared to mamba sized motors.

I wonder what the first facotry upgrades will be for this truck?

I hope for tougher diffs that plastic geared diff from the mini-t was barely up to the job in that let alone a twin motor monster with big wheels and tyres....

I would like to see in no particular order

Ally shocks

Tougher diffs both fr/rr and centre

Better slipper

RPM wishbones

MIP CVD's

CF Chassis

Ally chassis rails and shock towers

More tyre choice

And i want it all NOW! LOL

they might have beefed up the diff. knowing losi, they have clue as to what is going on. they know this thing needs a beefed up diff, so they probably did that

When I get one I'll see if I can fit a 540 motor in there, but it'll be likely that you guys that are in the mainland will get it first before we do . If you guys get it first let us know! If thats possible I'm thinking of getting the lrp brushless over the novak bl, reason being the lrp has more kv and kt!

Man this thing and wait is driving me crazy!
