Status: offline 		Hi Digger44, Today I flew the airplane he is very stable and it maneuvers well, I did not want to demand much the model until this installed yet to correct tendencies, but in torque roll is very quiet, to approximately 1/2 gas, I must increase some controls for better answer, but already I have time.

Status: offline 		JAJA si Tio pepe fue pero no lo quiso volar, me dejo todo el peso a mi, solo me carburo el motor y para arriba jajaj
el vuelo del avión es muy pero muy estable con decirte que trate de hacer un spin y nunca logre hacer que entrara en el, tuve que ponerle timón, vuela muy suave y es muy estable, pero no logre hacer vuelo de cuchillo tendré que ver los recorridos del timón y ponerle su capota al motor ya que eso según pepe me cambiaba todo el sistema de vuelo, la inclinación del motor quedo perfecta y su CG igual, torque roll a 1/2 Gas sin problemas, cuando lo tenga con todo comenzare con los ajustes de vuelo final y mezclas.
Tratare de publicar un video en algun sitio del Primer Vuelo para que veas de que hablamos.

Status: offline 		Took long enough but I finally got started on the covering today. Started with one of the elevators. Using Stix-it to apply the koverall went pretty well but the guys that said the Stix-it would gum up the iron were correct. The covering went on pretty smooth and the shrinkage is very good. Look out with the heat, it shrinks very quickly and could possibly warp or crush a delicate frame. I plan to spray two coats of Sig Nitrate clear over the covering and then one or two coats of butrate primer then the colors, sanding between of course. I am also taking weight measurements before each phase, ie; Koverall, nitrate, butrate, etc, on each piece. This will give me a good idea of the total weight penalty when completed and possibly application penalties. Might be interesting data. Don't have any pics yet but will post some in the next couple of days. I hope to have the plane covered and Nitrate coats on by the week before Christmas as I have vacation then and hope to be ready to do some colors during my vacation. One thing right now I need to figure out is what can I use to clean the iron. Plan to try generic thinner with the iron warm.

Status: offline 		The best thing to use to clean the iron that i've found.... go to the local paint store and get a pint of MEK. Works great!

Status: offline 		Got a case of the fuzzies on the edges but overall these went well. Koverall is very easy to work with, corners perfectly with little effort, seams are easy as well, so far. Hope to get the ailerons and the wing done this weekend if the weather is not too good to fly.

Status: offline 		Well, I havn't done any covering over the vacation, weather has been great and I just couldn't pass it up. I have flown quite a bit in the last two weeks and now have to go back to "WORK" on Tuesday.. Man that just wasn't enough time. I need another vacation. Another sidetrack was the new BME extra!!! Some kind of weird sickness I have, can't stop buying airplanes?? Bought the motor (DA_50) and some of the other gear. Just couldn't resist starting on this plane as well. My god I need to finish these planes. I suspect that the weather will not be this good for long so I will have some shop time soon.

I just purchased the 300 already built, (just drop in my receiver and fly), But I had a very tough time getting it to balance. It was tail heavy. I moved everything as far front as possible and even moved the engine forward. I had to put the fuel tank way in front of the c/g to get it to balance. I have the older kit with the solid horizontal stab and elevators. The engine up front is a BME 44. Getting this thing to balance has been a real challenge. If you or anyone else has some input it would be greatly appreciated. It is a great flying plane. Thanks, Ken

Hi mrbassman,
What I found out is that the weight of the Brison on the front made my plane nose heavy. I balance in the bones before starting the covering and all came out well but had to move the batteries back almost into the turtledeck. I won't know for sure until after the covering is done. Do you have a pull-pull on the rudder or are the servo's at the rear? The ignition battery can be moved forward on to the engine box as well if it's not already? Possibly the spinner and prop can add depending on type and size. Any pics of the setup? If I can't see or think of anything else for you to do I am sure there are others who will chime in? Pictures would be great.

Did you get this plane done..? I just pick up a midwest extr 300 at a swop.. I am going to put a 3w 42i on it.. Im having a hard time with geting info on it..

I was hoping you can give me some info.. I have been looking at this post for some time now but the info I need it not there.. or I just did not see it. lol there is a lot to read here..

The one thing I need to know is were is the CG at on this plane? That would be a good place to start..

Unfortunately I have not finished the plane yet, still in the covering stage. I got detoured by another plane build but plan to get back on it after the BME is finished. The book calls for 5- 7/8" CG back from the leading edge balanced at this point (not slightly to the nose). Let me know if I can help with any other info.

Status: offline 		I am also trying to get the CG as per the manual 5- 7/8" back from the leading edge. I have a DA-50 on the nose and the ignition battery in the engine box and the plane is tail heavy, I tried to add weight on the nose but is too much. I am removing the elevator servos and playing with the CG but is very hard, also I moved the receiver battery forward but has to be as minimum 8" from the ignition module. I will post the results.
