to get the bearing out, I removed the gear and used a large allen wrench+hammer, oh, and yes, those bearings aren't fun to put back together.

    Hi all,

Just took delivery of my GY401 gyro for my #36. Does anyone have a dummies setup guide that is suitable for the standard Walkera Tx? Most of the on-line docs and the included manual talk about setting it up with the more expensive Tx's. or can I just plug it in and go?

    Many thanks.
    Colin.

The GY401 is a great HH gyro, you have to plug into an AUX channel to remote adjust the gain, unfortunatlely the W#36 Tx does not provide trim/adjustment on ch5(gear), only a switch.
RC heli seldom can do plug and play, plug and pray instead.

    E_Heli,

Thanks for the reply. I think I have it sorted. I used channel 5 (gear channel) to remotely control the AVCS on/off. That works great. I found that when I first fired it all up with the GY401 in place that I had lots of servo throw one way but not the other. I had read something about Revo mix elsewhere, and knew that my very basic Walkera Tx was not going to have anything to program that ! After a bit of trial and error I found that if I flicked SW4 on the back of the TX to the right (looking at the back of the TX) then it came right. I now have equal throw each way. I have to back off the limit a bit I think but apart from that it looks sweet.
I haven't flown with the GY401 yet, just waiting for the wind to calm down a bit here. I'll do a bit of a search for some detail (in English ) on what that SW4 does.

    Cheers
    Colin.

I don't have the gy401, but I help a friend set it up with Eclipse 7 tx. You have to set the Rev mix to "0" or to OFF in the HH mode (AVCS in Futaba term), then check the end points of the tail servo, move to the next inner hole in the servo arm if the linkage start bending, over travel will draw a lot of current and may strip the servo gear.

I ditched my W#36 tx, rx, gyro and servos already. I don't have to deal with radio glitching issue any more, now I can't blame on Walkera electronics for any mishap.

    Vibration problem:

I helped a fried to repair his crashed W#36, after replacing the main shaft, the spindle and new blades. The blades are balance and tracked good. The heli spool up OK and pretty smooth, once it get light and about to lift off, that comes a violent vibration from the head, can't think of what cost it, may be the ball end linkages in the swash or the see saw?

Found the problem, the main shaft was crooked slightly where the slider hole is and cause the rotor head not turning true, there's no noticeable wobble but may be some resonance at the lift off rotor speed (2300 rpm in this case).

Another problem shows up, the heli used to hover very stable and pretty much can "hold it there" hands off for couple seconds, now she's going up and down and very sensitive in the pitch/throttle control, we're flying in the idle up mode, the motor speed is at 100% throttle.
The only changes is the carbon blades since the PE blades were destroyed, they are the same size, hovering pitch is at about +6.0 - 7.0 degree.

    Hi dear,
I had the same problem also.
Just open your transmeter and you will find a visible spring which is in charge of your LEFT/RIGHT stick.
Either its fallen out or got stock to some thing. just put it back to it place and you are ready to go.

Hello chaps sorry iv been away so long, I hate busy lives lol

Well anyways i come back to you with good weather for flying and another problem.

I cant remember if iv posted this b4, but

I still have the problem of the heli spinning out of control when i lift off.

I think its the tightness of the tail blade belt, i think the tail boom pole has slipped towards the body slightly which has made the belt slack so as soon as i power up the tail belt slipps and can no longer compensate for the main rotor spin.

I think i have to pull the tail boom pole back towards the tail to tighten it again......i think!!

If any of u guys or gals have had the same prob and resolved it, PLEASE!!! post....hehe

Im desperate to get flying again. =((

Im glad to be back all and am also glad that this post is going so well.

nice to see ya all again,

    Regards

    NRCH (Matt)

    Hi, Noz

I think its this part thats broken. Here is the link to that part.
    http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-38176160243944_1899_16399481

I was experiencing same problem when I noticed this part broke. Gear Set HM-036-Z-26. After repairing and installing the part, you might get some tail wag, which I'm still figuring out how to fix. Well hope this helps good luck!

    Hi Jerm979,

I know its not CCPM. CCPM is rc helis looks like this. Heres a link of a ccpm helis.

The swashplate looks different from the DF36. The response is quicker, and all three servos moves together in different pitch angles, roll, etc..
