Dan,
Keep us updated on the 300 and engine. There's a video on the League website, it's pretty impressive, I think they are using the CRRC engine... or maybe a G45..

Be careful with the GF45 engine. There is a thread on this engine in the GAS Engine section, that I started. I am not impressed with this engine, although I did buy it secondhand. It has been very unreliable and the muffler cracked in half. I'm not sure about the extra 300 but there was a review in an australian model magazine. They seemed happy with it.

This extra in the Australian Mag was made by a friend of mine. The engine was supurb out of the box spinning a bolle 20x10 with no probs 40:1 mineral oil. Most of the hardware needed to be replaced but its cheap so expect it. It flys wery well and has power to spare. DONT use the blue anodised wing tube! Failures have occured! Great intro into gas!

Got one the other day. Good plane, needs re-gluing of most joints. The CRRC engine fits nicely, however throttle linkage is good fun setting up. Most hardware is crap, especially the wheel pants ! and the wing tube looks better than previous. The cowl, if not already cracked will soon be, something to do with the paint pulling the cast tight, hairline cracks will develop...get heaps of stickers :P.

Good old gloss blak spray on the INSIDE...doesnt scratch and it always looks nice. Ive been away for 3 weeks so im getting back into it. Connected all the servos and arms etc, ignitions in, as well as the extra large tank and 2 battery packs. Looking forward to runnig though, however there are some sad threads around about the earlier crrc pro 45's...but we shall see and I'll keep you guys posted..

Just thought I'd add these pics, I have just finished installing all the servos and setting throws & mixing etc. The girl is getting there slowly, unfortunatley I think a little weight will be needed in the nose. Im running all 6 servos of a 6V 1200mah NIMH pack, and another 1200mah for the ignition. The ignition is packed in foam and sits in between the firewall and motor block so its as far away for the Rx as possible. As you can see I have quite a large tank but I wont be filling it completly. The wheel pants cracked on me whilst 'trying' to fit them so I've left them off, most of mine get broken off anyway. Make sure you go over all the joints with CA !!!!!!!

Just taking a quick look at your pictures, it appears to me that the tank is located forward of the CG. If so, you could potentially gain two benefits from moving it back directly over the CG- 1) CG would be constant regardless of fuel levels and 2) you may gain better access to the forward wing bolts.

Hi
Yes, the tank isnt in permanantly as of yet as the batteries are going to be under the tank tray. I loath those wing nuts as they are right next to the throttle servo cutout. Im up in the air about cutting the wing tube in 2, gluing the halves in each wing, then having another smaller tube that goes inside the wing tubes and can be bolted from the inside so the wing bolts are just for allighnment.

I have one of these planes. and have been lookin for information on it ever since i got it. the manual or instructions that came with the plane are a joke. I bought it on ebay in 2005. it's now august 2006 and i'm still putting it together. it has the crrc 45 gi engine and is the same plane pictured on this thread. The pictures of the plane help alot on how its put together. i will have to take pictures of what i have. I really wish i hadn't went for the cheap plane on ebay. Didn't come with all the parts and it was damaged in shipping from china. Wow i sure hope someone has put this plane together and can show me some proff that it's worth all the time and effort to build it. This is my first large scale plane. If anyone can give me a web site or something that has better detailed instructions that would be a blessing.

It is now December and i am still Fusing withthis airplane Finally got it almost done Fiding locations to mount everything is kinda frustrating The wheel Pants are a problem but soon i will take some photos of what i have So far. Still i cant beleive no one has replied to this thread. Hard to beleive ther arent more people out there that have this plane. After i have completed it i'm going to sell it i dont think i will ever fly it or get what i put into it back. Any pictures of already completed planes would be great..
