Status: offline 		Thanks for the tip on the sale price! I've been lusting for this plane for a long time and the price just seemed too much. For $350 and free shipping I couldn't resist. I have a DLE 20 that will be a perfect match.

Status: offline 		I have a dle 30 with smoke and it flys fantastic!! lots of compliments at the field. I am sure a 20cc would work but so much nose weight was needed for mine. it comes in at 14 pounds

Status: offline 		I see that a 30cc engine is recommended by the manufacturer. I also have a DLE 30 and that should do the job.

Status: offline 		I've had this poor bird for two years now, Ah, in the box! Well she's going to get built this winter. I have a 32 cc I've picked up. I have read up to page 40 So plenty more reading to go. But I think I'll be happy with a 32 gaser up front? We'll see.

Status: offline 		I have seen a 4-stroke gasoline engine in this plane simular in size to my saito 36g..
I have no doubt that this plane would work well with it now...
This is the OS GF40 40cc gas 4-stroke that will be out sometime soon..

Status: offline 		I finally started my Hawk a few days ago, tonights project was to get the wings mounted and lined up. I have the original version of this kit, not the rereleased version that GP came out with.  My problem that I encountered was with the center cabanes. With everthing mounted and aligned, my cabane mounting holes miss the hardwood stringer glued in the fuse. Either my cabanes are too low or the block is too high. I'd have to force the cabane up at least 3/8" for the front hole and @ 1/2' for the rear holes. I'm looking for ideas on how to correct my dilemma. I don't like the idea of forcing the top wing up in the center. How would that affect it's flying characteristics? Or I thought of adding spacers on the upper wing brackets to lift the whole wing equadistance across it's span, therefore raising the center cabanes up higher. I'd appreciate any and all input to get this corrected.

Status: offline 		That's a lot. I also have one from the original first production run. If I remember correctly, Some of the ARFs (including mine) had the red fwd stickers on the center cabane struts on backwards. Closely check them for proper orientation. Although mine still hit the hardwood blocks, it was just barely.
So I got rid of the supplied wood screws and used blind nuts and bolts to attach the center cabanes to the fuse. but as I recall it was a p.i.t.a. too get my hands in there. If you dig back far enough in this thread you'll probably find this situation popped up. ( posts 296-1101) Don't try to bend the wing up in the middle.

Still flying mine after 7 yrs.
