I am pulling the YS 120 I have in now for a 26cc engine. Wondering what the best fit will be. Any suggestions?

Just lost mine due to rcvr failure. I got a new one from Tower and this one will have a Mark 180G instead of the previous YS 120.

Sorry you had problems with your receiver Capt G. Happy to hear you got one of the last ones from Tower. Sure is a great flying airplane. I switched to 2.4 ghz and I really feel comfortable when I'm flying at our club field. Bought the Futaba 6EX and five receivers which are all being used now

Hmmmm....

I read what others posted......
Lame.... 1'st that they discounted the plane to 299$

and then to drop it entirely???

I think they shot themselves in the fott by taking too much off to begin with....
this plane has a lot of fetures that would be very painstakingly to make yourself!!!
Wheel pants and trailing edges of the wings.....
I would like to see someone try and mold that themselves!!!!

Had I know that they were taking it off the market I would have gotten another one!.....

Well, now I have 3-Dixt ARF's from them in boxes!!
Giant Chipmunk, Aeromaster, and now the Hawk!!

Bummer...

To be honest I was thinking of bidding on it but I had already had One and this week I bought a 67 inch ws Royal P-26a kit off RCUniverse AND a NIB laser cut "DeHAVILLAND BEAVER" by IKON NORTHWEST with a 96 in.wing ws off eBay. I need to stay off the internet as I've ran across to many GREAT BUYS...... lol

Hi Guys

Also finished this bird last week. I have a Saito FG-36 Gasser in it but there is one question that I'd like to know. For the first time i am unsure about the Hawk's neutral elevator position. Can someone post a pic or give me some info about this? Would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I myself always use a little down trim on the maiden flight because you do not want the Hawk to lift off the runway before you are up to flying speed, once airborn, you can trim things out safely.
I use a Zenoah Gasser in mine and the Hawk flys beautiful (reallistic)

got the wings joined and the motor mounted on my replacement. The Mark 1.80 was not a good fit so i went with a FPE 2.4.

Hajo,
I set my Hawk elevator to absolute neutral and had no problems. This plane flies like a trainer, seriously. I was absolutly amazed at the dosile flight characteristics. I am far from a great flyer and feel this is about as easy to fly as our Alpha trainer.

Flew mine last weekend for the first time. I put a Saito 220 in it and very happy with the outcome. Unfortunately the motor has been sitting around and needs new bearings. I should have them next week and back in the air shortly after that.
