C'mon Ed - you're being way too modest. Methinks you also have a little experience "driving" aircraft considerably larger than RC models!!!

I just looked up some oversea *street price*. It looks like I may be able to pick up a new 120 AX for equivalent of < $180 US during my upcoming vacation. It should work well on my Harrier 90.

This would be my second OS I've owned under the new management. I had OS 40 FP, 25 FP, 25 SF, 28 FSR, 32 FSR, 108 FSR, and 61 FP. They were all good engines. I recently had to break-in a 46 LA for a friend of mine. What a surprising disappointment. It was the first OS I couldn't hand-start. Even w/ a starter it won't start. I had an OS 160 FX that I sold to a friend. I really hope the 120 AX will satisfy me the old FSR's did. Like they say, there is only 1 way to find out.

The ringed OS engines were always the best. Hopefully this one will be a winner
as well.

Looks like it uses the same rear bearing as the OS1.6/OS108

Is there an issue with the bearings on the 1.08 and 1.60?

No. A lot of pattern fliers change out the rear bearing on the OS1.6FX to SS.

The 108 and 140rx use the same bearing. 6904. The 160fx uses a 6004 as does the ST 140 and webra 160.

Sorry for the mis information but this is what misled me into thinking they were the same.

Μan,
ofcourse it is an OS engine!!!
What are your problem with OS engines?
Do you like them?
Then buy them!
You don't like them, don't EVER EVER buy them.
Back to the topic and here is a reply to this!
quote:

Now, look how the tide has turned, the once great OS quality is worse than even the average Chineese engine

Look,
in my club,
most people use OS engines and Magnums (just a copy of OS).
Also i have seen one or two using GMS engines.
Yes,these darn Chinese engines that are sponsored in Towerhobbies as @one of the best manufacturer@...
I must say that no ,but one guy in my club had a problem with an OS heli engine, and that was overheating.
He riched that thing and problem went away.
As for me,i am an OS fan.
I started with an OS 46 LA.
And after that i bought an OS 91 FX with the upgrades on needle valve and backplate and also
an OS 65 LA.
I don't have a problem with these engines.
And cann't say that OS doesn't make NOW and THEN good and reliable engines.
Even if i am an OS fan,i would like to break-in a ST 2300 or a bigger one,or a Magnum 4stroker,or
RCV 4str.,even Saitos as well,
BUT NOT CHINESE ENGINES.
It is not regional.
I just don't to hear anything about them.
So,in the end of my reply to all guys who critisize OS quality i must say that...
If you like these manufacturer, because we makes reliable-performance engines, just buy them.
If you don't like them because of their quality, cost etc. go with another manufacturer.
But not tell BAD oppinions about OS without proofing it.
