From who?

Me?

Oops......

Well, I just got enough done to pose for pictures. I was back in the shop with it today. Built my throttle linkage, and steering linkage. Changed the horn on the elevators after seeing the pics of the dearly departed horn! Ran all the servo y-harness and extensions and routed them through the fuselage. Trying to figure right now what to do about the antenna wire. Can I double it back on itself?

Oh yeah, heh. We love pics!!

PS: Always remember......."measure twice, cut once" One of these years, I might actually remember that! That last pic........the gas cap was 'supposed' to go on the side. What a dipstick..........

Thanks for the comps', B'buster!

I got the Rx; switch; and battery installed today and tucked in nicely with foam. I ran my Rx antenna forward, then through the top of the fuselage, and back to the horizontal fin. Need to get a hook. I need to seal up the fuel tank opening but first I need to do a CG test. If all is well, I can seal up the fuel tank area and the plane will truly be finished. Except for breaking in the engine. Still need to pull it off the plane and do that. Sorry I do things so slow.

I spent most of my energy today building a buffing motor stand........

I took mine out of the box today while I had some stuff drying. I stil think I can get a G90 on the front of this thing to include the mount without much change. I'll probably take the fuse to the LHS next week to size one up to be sure. Ordinarily I would rather stick a Jett 90 up front but I want to see how a G90 will scream with a pipe and the right prop.

Curious though, is that canopy removable if you take of the trim. Anybody done that?

I'm curious to find out how a G90 will scream also, it is normally a great running engine however I have never seen one run in a prop jet. I have most of the parts together for my juno F-18 except the engine I have considered this engine also with a pipe or jett muffler let us know how it works out.

heres one in a prop jet. I dont run the tuned pipe on it , just the standard can muffler, I'm still breakin in the engine but she's tached 12,800 on a 12 X8 prop( but that is still rich , havent leaned her right out yet)..this has been a very good engine..none of the transition hassles others have mentioned.. for the price is it a good combination as the torque of this engine is a big help with such a boxy prop Jet
and as far as speed goes .. the speed calculator comes up with a surprise when calculated against a jett 90l running a 12 X 6...... Iwill have to bolt the jett 90l into this air frame to get a real idea!

Hey Cyclic,

No worries with removing the canopy, just take the trim off & will fall off. It is coverred in the same red as the rest of the aircraft underneath there.

Tony.

Looks like a good low cost powerplant, the F-18 isn't going to be a rocket anyways

Neither have I. My G90s are in planes like the Shoestring and such, My propjets have Jetts. What the heck eh? A ringed engine only has more pices to watch explode!

I'm building the old DC/ JUNO F/A 18 Hornet aswell Chuck, so it will be intersting to see how she goes..I think the G90 would be ok.

It comes down to the right prop. Many don't understand this. The G90 is no Jett but it is a performer. I have both and can say this. I may consider an 11/11 apc to start and see what happens. The planes seems real light so it may do well.
