i've been using klotz for my saito for a year now and seems to work very well. unfortunately we have run out of klotz and there's no finding it.
has anyone tried using only castor with their saito? what kind of castor to get? which one is better, gum or d gum oil?
i need a reliable oil substitute for klotz otherwise no more hovering low

Are you talking Klotz techniplate or Benol?

My current Saito brew consists of 15% Coolpower Blue (synthetic), 5% Klotz Benol, 70% methanol and 10% nitro. This gives a good compromise between handling, performance and cost in a country where nitromethane costs over $100 per gallon.

Coolpower also sell pure degummed castor oil if that's what you're looking for -- or a pink colored synth/castor blend (about 80/20 I think) which should work just fine.

sorry, what i meant was that some fuel came from Australia with klotz oil and 15% nitro.
now that fuel is over and there's no suitable synthetic oil available here in India.
so, now we have to try castor instead.
thanks

Go ahead and use a castor oil based fuel. If all castor is being used in your Saito's, you would be fine with just 15% by volume of castor oil. To keep the valves from building up excess amounts of gum and carbon, I sould suggest that you keep it fairly rich mixture settings, What I mean by rich is backing the high speed needle off byat least 500 rpm's or so on the mid sized Saito's and at least 400 rpms on the larger ones. this helps keep the temps down and causes less castor to carbon up.
You may have some increased valve maintenance in the long run (many many gallons) if you run them hot enough to allow carbon to build up on the valves and in the combustion chamber, that is why I suggest running them a little richer than normal.
For long term storage, since castor likes to harden, I would suggest a healthy dose of a lightweight machine oil injected into the crankcase breather, under the valve covers and down the pushrod tubes and worked into the fuel passages of the carburator. Then work it around so everything is well coated internaly so the castor will not harden up the engine.

Hey tictok If you have any go-cart or racing motorcycle shops in india give them a try. Morgan makes a coolpower gold with castor blend oil. Castor % is 30% instead of 20% like in KLOTZ. I pay $21.00 american from comet cart in Greenfield Indiana. I like Klotz which is made here in Fort Wayne, Indiana You might email them and ask for distributors in India if they have any. International shipping seams too be cheap now. Maybe you could get 4 gallons shipped or 12 quarts from Klotz direct or Comet Cart.............
