There is a schematic, however, I have absolutely no access to the camera hack site, is anyone else able to get there?

Hey guys just got in from work. Talked with the Elec. Eng. that is looking at mine working on making a short cable to move the lens. He said it would be much easier and quicker if if he had a schematic of the circuit board. I know one exist but I can't find it. Anyone remember seeing it and where?

Hi Jon,

Can you crop your original picture to just of the board to board connector and repost? RCU limits the resolution.

Also, can you get the dimensions of the connector........the outer block and the inner mating block as well as the center to center distance between 2 adjacent pins? I am looking for a ribbon cable version of this connector. Oh and of course if there is a manufacturer's part number anywhere around J1a or J1b I can use that too.

Just received my camera from Shulman Aviation. (only a few days after ordering which is good as i am in the UK)

I have had a quick play with it and i am well happy with what i got for my money.

a nicely presented product with instructions, Software needed on a disk, a Lithium Polimer battery and a USB cable. i was recording and playing back within 15 seconds of opening the box!

i think fun per buck this has a very high return. good luck all you hackers, but if like me you dont have the time or inclination to "create" one yourself then there is an option

Dave

A ribbon cable extension would make this camera perfect!!! If you find one, put me on the list for a couple!!!!

Me too, me too!!! That is the only thing holding this camera back, for R/C use, is its geometry. We NEED to remotely locate the lense!

OK Jon, I am looking, but can you measure the distance between any 2 adjacent contacts, with calipers? They look to be .8mm (.0315 in)

Does anybody know how to rig up and extend the record switch button?. I had one setup to turn on/off with a micro servo which uses an extra channel on my RX but would like to make it manual.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That's what I thought, but why are they parallel and not swinging in an arc?

best guess is that it has to do with the frequency/rate of the recorder?

PS, are you coming down to the Jet Fly In at Pensacola?

You pays your money and takes your choice.....I was happy to pay GBP38.00 / $67.95 including shipping for the same camera with all the work done as well, plus usb lead and software. Same minimal 'effort' involved, took about 5 days for shipment from the States, works great. Looking forward to seeing all the 'in-flight' movies that should be apearing soon !!

Rob.

Hey Mitty,
maybe you should go back to your prop plane forums, this forum too advanced for a guy at your flying level.

Ouch !! Must be getting slow in my old age Absolutely agree..horses for courses...hee...hee !!

I have to admit to flying both types, though I only had a hand in the development of one, to be honest I don't mind flying any jet so long as it behaves itself....just love flying them all.

You are quite welcome to 'have a go' with a Merlin Dave if we are at any of the same UK meets?

Cheers, Rob.
