We also use old wire spools at our field. They make very good stands for assy, starting and any other activity needed. I drill a couple holes for large dowls at an angle to hold the plane for starting and ajusting. With engine idling put it on the ground, or carry it to the runway for takoff.I have built an abreviated field box to carry all my equip to the flight staition with one trip.box with radio, starter[ self contained] fuel and fuel pump with a few rudimentery tools, with wing in cradle on top in one hand and fuse in other hand, everything else stays in car.One trip to the station and one trip back. Very simple

If anyone else wants copies of my free field stand plans, please send me your e-mail address and I will get them right out to you. These plans are very detailed (11 pages in all) and anyone who can build a model airplane will have no problem with this project.

I will continue to send these out through December 7,2002. I will try to have them on my new website sometime after the first of the year, but for now get your orders in before Dec 7 and I will be more than happy to send them out. I need to try and get back on my latest model after that.

Thanks for all the kind comments about the design and/or the plan set. If you already have a set of plans and need help, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks, Greg Finan

Could anyone who received these plans please post a link to them or provide some details on how to get a copy? I tried contacting the originator of the plans (gfinan) with no luck.

Thanks!

Hi Wonderboy,

This is Greg, aka: gfinan. I'm still here. If you or anyone else needs plans for my field stand, feel free to contact me at gfinan@cox.net. I now have time to send these out again, so send me your email address and I'll send the plans out within 24 hours. There are 11 pages total, so the attachment is rather large. Please put "Field Stand" or "RC Universe in the subject line" so my spam filter doesn't kick the message.

Thanks for the interest, Greg

When requesting plans for the field stand, please do not send your request as "priority" because my spam filter kicks these to the round file. I have been retrieving these emails and sending out plans, but this takes quite a lot of extra time. Thanks for your understanding and if you want a set of the plans, feel free to email me.

I picked up the "Sky Jack" this spring. Best field stand I ever owned!! Has wheels. Folds up to 4 1/2 inches thick. Has two work trays under the aircraft.

He only sells direct - no LHS or distributors.

I have been out of town and may of missed some of your emails requesting plans for my field stand. If I have not sent you a copy out yet, please email me again and I will get them right out to you.

I would also like to thank "Beardking" for converting the plans to PDF format. This makes it easier for me to send them out, but most of all, it makes it a LOT easier if you are on the receiving end. Thanks again Beardking.

One last note, if you want a copy of the plans feel free to email me at the address below.

Happy Flying

Here's a picture of mine. Went together pretty good, but did make a few mistakes. It's made from #1 pine, and luan plywood. I also used the optional screws, instead of doweling the joints.
