Hello, To help answer the emails and PM's were getting. I will give the specs below on this plane that is in the prototyping process now.. The new 92" Extra 300 Mid wing ARF will be designed around the growing number of single 70-85cc engines and a few twins on the market. We are taking the design of the bigger Extra 300 kits that are becomming very popular and reduced it down to 92" wing span models. Spec's Wing Span 92" Wing Area 1595sq. in. Length 81" weight 18.5-19.5lbs Eng. 70-80cc single or twin equivilent Cowl inside demension is 11 3/8" to keep a small twin cyl. within the cowl. Two Piece Cowl like our bigger planes for easy access to the engine compartment, Instrument panel sets, tailwheel assy, hardware package, cannister ready etc. More details to follow as we tweak the final plane. John, I've noticed some of your plane pictures have a gray textured looking paint internally expecially the picture of the new Extra 300 mid-wing, do you do this or is this the way the ARF comes. Can you post a picture or 2 of the prototype, and will there be a video on the site soon? The web site also list a 35% and a 40% is the 92" a 33%? Thanks

Hello, We wont have a protoype finished until late December. We believe it will perform like our larger Mid wing 300's. Very neutral and rock steady. We will have have items other don't included. We have a large interest in this plane since no one has it. The grey is called stone creations. You can buy it at home depot. Spray a light cote of grey primer before but no primer on the foam. The stone creations is fine on foam. The ARF'S wont have that in the fuse. Cockpit yes. The larger planes are kit and we build those on demand for customers. Let me know if I can help further. Lets say this plane does come in at 18.5 pounds with an 80 single. If you were to keep it light and use a cannister on a 50cc engine like maybe the MVVS 58, do you think it would be possible to have an 18 pound plane. The 58 is a monster engine on a pipe and it still weighs less than the 80. Also people are running this engine on stock mufflers in 18 pound plane and having great success. I was just kinda curious how you think it would work.

Hello, Well also you have to think about the loner moment which needs more weight forward. We are designng the plane around a 70cc-85cc single. The 58 from a porwer standpoint may work but there may be a CG issue. We will be using a new 3W80 in the first plane and switching to a ZDZ 80. Were hoping to see a DA 75 next year. We want to test the motors. We know the success the larger planes are having now and the great feedback from the customers building the planes and those few who have flown our test 35% and 42% planes. Also we had previous success with a 84" Extra 300s that was designed in 1994. So planes of most any size we have done already in kit form. Let me know if I can help further. Hello, We have no idea yet. With the items included like a two piece cowl, cowl wide enough for a small twin to enclose the motor and other items our competitors don't do, we havent nailed down a price. It's about time somebody fill in the large gap between the popular 50cc and 100cc classes. The 50cc birds are too small for me, but I don't much care for the expense and bulk of the all-to-popular 33-35% aerobats that require 100-110cc engines. Kudos to you for keeping the 80cc twin in sight. They cost darn near 1/2 that of a 100cc twin, by the time you factor in the exhaust system. Plus, there is something to be said for a small smooth twin compared to a big fire-breathing thumper. I have a Fuji 86cc twin (6lbs with CH ign and Peacemaker muffler) waiting. Get to work![:D]

Hello, We have sent the cad drawings to our manufacturer. They are making the prototype now for us. We hope in Jan to have it. We are trying be a step above with the additional features that others don't offer. I will keep all of you posted. Thanks John

Good to see this size heating up. I have loved the Extra 300 since my dad built me a Goldberg with a YS on it about 15 years ago. What a nice looking (and flying) plane. Good luck with it!
