ORIGINAL: KaseyRC I have 2 questions about a trainter that I recently got, if you don't mind answering. The trainer is a Hangar 9 Alpha 40. 1 - The wing connects together with an aluminum rod and an alignment pin. The wing slides together and they say to tape them together. What is the pros/cons of just glueing the wing together? other then ease of transporting Transporting the wing is the only real reason to consider here. Otherwise you can glue the wings together or leave them as two pieces. I worked with several students using this plane and they both left them as 2 pieces with no ill effects. The choice is really going to be yours as to what you do. quote:
2 - If the monokote covering is loose and has bubbles in it will that cause the plane to flutter? I'm getting an iron to tighten it up, but was wondering. This would be no. Bubbles in the covering will not cause flutter. Flutter is caused by parts of the airframe oscillating while in flight, usually it is the control surfaces (i.e. elevator, rudder, or ailerons) that will flutter in flight and destroy the plane. Ken
