now Kieth, we know you are simply overjoyed that a fellow FAI supporter is on the board, and how can you say Chuck is a disturbing force, you should be thrilled.

what make you state that chuck is a disturbing force

"my back still aches when I hear that word"

It's great that Chuck in on the board.

Truthfully, he has...and as of the last Nats, he has redeemed himself from the turmoils of Scale 2002 as the organization was successful and has turned a profit...shutting up the naysayers. Keith also has the evidence within the MAAC mag and had reported as such. Maybe they can all work together for once as a new direction MAAC will take. Kenair is finally right for once.

Ahhh -- recognition at last. Ken is MUCH deeper than suspected by the usual suspects. Well Ken, now that you have finally been recognized as an underated sage, what surprises are next on the hit parade? Have you been secretly in cahoots with a ghost writer -- perhaps Jim?

Actually Ken doesn't really exist -- he is a spectre from Chuck's darkest dreams.

oops - I misread that as sphincter

All things said, I am sure taht Mr. Smith will approach his responsibility on the board of Directors of MAAC with the passion and zeal he has shown for other projects he has been involved in.
Even directors such as mark sharp, who was villified even before his first AGM, come to see that teh responsibilities of being on the BOD often outweigh the importance of representing your regional members ...

Think of the big picture, I can see the board asking Morrison and Chuck to partner and host the next FAI event in Canada - probably pattern, Kieth from his FAI glider and Chuck from the Nats, a sound marriage for a successful event.

I know you would like the Pattern WC to come to Canada Ken....but sadly it aint gonna happen little man.....2007 is in Argentina....and rumor has it 2009 probably back in Europe again. Beyond that there is no one in this country willing to host it. I can only think of 2 guys with enough know how to put one on, and I know they aint gonna do it.

Uh ... while I have said that I'd consult and advise any future FAI W/C bids ... you aren't likely to find me on an organising committee of any major R/C event for some time to come.

'Mr. Floatie' backs out of race for mayor of Victoria

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

VICTORIA, British Columbia -- Mr. Floatie, a community activist who dresses up in a feces costume to decry the pumping of raw sewage into the waters off British Columbia's capital, has withdrawn his name as a candidate for mayor.

The city had planned to challenge Mr. Floatie's candidacy in B.C. Supreme Court.

James Skwarok, the man inside the costume, said the city apparently took issue with his candidacy because only real people can run for municipal office.

"Of course I'm not a real person," Skwarok said earlier this week. "I'm a big piece of poop."

Robert Woodland, Victoria's administrator, confirmed that Mr. Floatie is no longer in the running, the Victoria Times Colonist reported Tuesday.

Skwarok was not available for further comment.

I don't think we should give up hope, there is a lot of talent and inertia to assemble a good fai team and get a bid in - Chuck, Morrison, Larkin, Barlow plus the board behind you.

You have to look at the big picture, MAAC is in the business of competition and maac should strive to host the top events, how else are we going to produce the talent to win, plus the side benefits of increased awareness of the hobby will yield a significant membership increase for maac.
