Thought you might like to see my F-18. Having a ball. I added an inlet just under the nose to allow air to flow through the speed controll and batt. compartments. I cut holes in the back of the interior box for exit air. It flys well with no flaps or rudders installed. I love the flat spin i can get with it. Really cool and a crown pleaser. Exit at will is no problem and can be made at any heading desired. Also shown is the tail protector i made to keep the delicate elevator lincage from getting damaged in stansit. I had this happen to me.

Painted it with Krylon H2o latex spray paint (Ace Hardware). Almost a perfect match for the Blue Angels look. I'll work on the room.

Funny, that's exactly what I thought it was.

Had my speed control literally melt in my F-18. The chips acually dropped off the board. Plane went in like a lawn dart but all it did was get the nose all muddy. I have installed a new control but have yet to try it. I had 50 flights or more on the old one. Will be sending it back to Castle Creations.

Was it that obvious? So far I have had awsome results with the onboard stuff with these models. GWS rx and servos, Castle 25, Eflite park 370 in an MPI gear box, and Kokam 3s 1500, hard to beat ! Like I said before this is number 8 I have begun saving the noses and a few tails to make an F-18 mosaic .

Here are a few earlier versions.

HA ! I would if I didn't re-use so many of the parts. All the electrics are the same as day one along with contol horns and stabilator.

It was a Castle 25 that melted down on me. Appogee 1570, highmax 2015 5400, 9X6 prop. Do you see any problems with that setup? I know a lot of guys are having great success with it. I had great performace till the melt down. I don't stretch my batteries and just don't know what happened. A guy at the LHS said Castle had redesigned the 25 and the new one I got does look differant on the circuit board. Wonder if others are having any trouble with this?

Mine is one of the new ones. I also had the LHS program it removing the soft start and brakes. It also has the low voltage cut-off in there. I run mine till it stops or 10 min whichever comes first. It does pull the bat pretty hard at wot. I also have one of the new Eflite ESCs in my delta a much better deal IMO. No programming needed just plug and play, it was also quite a bit cheaper.

Do you guys like the 3D foamy F-18 better than the F-15? Is it the same size and weight class? What is the AUW?

Thanks,
Larry

Haven't finished the F-15 yet so I can't tell you. I have heard a clubmate of mine has one and likes it just as well at the
F-18. He is using a little hotter set-up than I am tho. If I recall I was 17oz unpainted with 19 oz thrust.
