Hi Guys,
I finally got my MPI Baja Bug Body painted and installed on my Rustler. I'm very pleased with the results. Seems a shame to race it in that demolition derby we call a race at work.
But thats exactly what Im going to do. There are about 5 or 6 of us racing mostly Rustlers at lunchtime at work on a track we layed out. Its a mix of concrete/asphalt and gravel.

This should make it much easier for me to keep my eyes on MY car.
I painted it with a spray can of Metalic Blue. Then airbrushed silver over that to make it translucent. The stickers that come with the MPI bodies are really awesome. (at least for the baja they were)

I had to relocate the body mounts to use this body. I custom made brackets to do that.
I plan on changing up the front bumper to something a little easier on the eyes next.

Comments and questions are welcome.

Alright guys 'n gals...

My first go at painting a shell...

I have to travel a bit for work and while in the city I bought 3 cans of paint (white, black and a pinky/gold metalic) and a HPI 2006 Mustang GTR shell with some tape and scissors... oh.. and a newspaper...

Took it back to the hotel room, layed down the paper and 4-5hrs later... BAM!!!

indoors...

outdoors...

Its the Tamiya Iridescent Pink Gold Polycarbonate Spray - item # PS47.

It needs to be backed with another colour and can be bought here...

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=19083

The front of the car has the iridescent paint backed with white and the rear is backed with black with the opposite for the 'speed stripes' to give that contrast between the light and dark...

I assume you could back it with whatever other colour you chose with different results...
