im just learning. so i have lots of questions. i see lots of paited cars and trucks that still have the the extra plastic still on them like the wheel wells. the guy that paints the cars at my local hobby shop cuts all that off before he starts his painting. he also uses an airbrush.

so my question is how do you not mess up the paint job when leaveing the extra plastic wheel wells on?

AIRBRUSH
and it is all personal choice some people say cut then paint some say paint then cut I cut then paint just keep practicing

I leaxe the extra on then cut as you can see. It just gives me a extra place to spray the paint onto when the needle dries or when I change colors. It also gives me more places to hold onto while painting. If its cut out then you start painting, there is no room to grab the body and a bigger chance of fingering up the body.
There is no right or wrong way though, its all just personal choice.

I just finished my first paintjob, just cut it all today.

These chrome rims are just for looks, they don't fit right for runnin with the body. I still have to buy good rims with drift tires.

My latest body for my Mlst 2. This one is a tribute to my favorite painting growing up. Frank Frazettas Death Dealer! Yes I am a child of the 70's. I figured the Parme Panel truck would be a good enough substitue for a 70's conversion van. I tried to fade the pics out to black in hopes of camoflaging the edges but outlaw black and printer black are two different things it seems. Theres also a pic of My Conan body and my Micro DT. My basher body (illuzion) is just about bashed to death so I might have to switch over to conan though I hate to do it. I may just hunt down another body to bash about in.
