Default Pensacola Jet Fly In

Hey guys,

Decided to have a jet get together here in Pensacola. Ive been provided with a Navy OLF here in Pensacola for the 19/20 of November. Looks like we may be able to fly on friday as well, more to follow on that. There are 4 separate runways at the facility each over 4500 feet in length. See the attached photos of the site. There will be concessions at the field with burgers, chips and beer. Plan to fly from sun up to sun down. The best part is there is no registration fee, just taking donations to help offset my personal costs. The weather here is always great that time of year temperature wise. Have several RSVPs right now so it looks like it will be a pretty good turnout. If you are interested in attending, drop me an email at [email protected] so I can get a good head count. Hotels are within 2 miles of the field:

Comfort Inn 850-623-1511
Holiday Inn Express 877-531-5084
8510 Keshav Taylor Road

Planning on this being a pilots event. Not super formal, but if you want to come out and burn some kero with the guys...everyone is invited. If you have any questions just drop me an email at the above email address, and I will do my best to accomodate!

Thanks,
Mike

Looks like a great place to fly!!! Count me in!!! Being so close to the NAS it would be great if we could somehow talk the Blue Angels into making a flyby :^) Talk about the ultimate Jet meet!!!!!!!

Mike, I'll be there.

Guys, this is a great flying site. With four runways, it is probably one of the few jet events that can just about guarantee no crosswind.

The comfort inn is slightly closer. It was renovated after the hurricane, but then again the Holiday Inn like most are pretty nice too. I would say IMO its a coin toss. They are both good looking places. If you have probs with reservations, let me know because I have a few other hotel options, just posted the nicest 2 for now.

This is true Hal, but if anyone is interested NAS Pensacola does have the nicest aviation museum I have ever seen. It probably has over 75 aircraft from the beginning of flight all way to modern era fighters. They have an IMAX theater with the new movie "fighter pilot" playing several times a day. If you are interested in coming, you might want to alter your plans and stay till Monday or come early friday to go to the museum.

Just spoke with the hotels....Looks like Comfort Inn is the way to go. We have a group rate of $65/night and it is closest to the field. Just give them a call and let them know you are part of the airshow and they will set you up with rooms. This rate is only good if the reservations are made by Nov 7. Comfort Inn phone: 850-623-1511

Here's a couple of links for the museum. A definate must if you're in the area, not to mention all of the beaches etc to visit!!!!! You can always swing by Mobile and see the battleship leaning over as well :^) If you're in the area on Nov 11-12 the Pensacola End of Season airshow with the Blue Angels is scheduled!!! Definately a great Airshow!!!! On the same weekend as the airshow (oops) is the Extreme Aerobatic fly in here in Mobile.

Just made the arrangements to have fuel available at the event. Pensacola Aviation has donated fuel to the VT-3 squadrons spouses club who will be there selling fuel. All proceeds from sales will benefit the spouses club, so it goes to a good cause.

Hope to see you all there.

If you contact me ahead of time, I can make arrangements for RVs. There arent any hook ups of any kind though. I do need to know ahead of time because I have to get authorization.
