Status: offline 		Well MinnFlyer, I finally finished my CM Pro Mosquito and shot some footage of the mechanical retracts working. I have uploaded it onto YouTube and this is the link :

All I need now is some clear weather to get it into the air. Some of the things I have added are, 2 x SAITO 56 four strokes, PCFS fuel feed pressure system, REWO Electronic Power Switch II - DUEL power supply powered by 2 x 5 AA 2000 MaH NiMH banks of batteries (especially good for mechanical retracts), the great mechanical retracts.

One thing I would like to mention for anyone who views the video is that you'll notice a lot of flex in the pushrod, but this is due to the fact that the plane is upside-down.

The over-center spring is designed to help overcome gravity as the wheels come up. When the plane is upside-down the servo has to fight the spring.

Status: offline 		No worries MinnFlyer. The rod is actually bent to allow a more direct line with the rod going into the retract. I haven't been able get a nylon rod with the smaller diameter yet but you said the metal rod should be okay. The system works fine though. Cheers.

Minnflyer,

Are you still making these retracts. I have tried without success to get in touch with 3dx hobbies. I am pretty sure I read this was where to buy your product. I have emailed and called multiple times with no response from 3dx. At this point I really have no desire to do business with them. The web site says the retracts will be in stock mid march, but it does not give a year....

If you could help me with locating your product I would appreciate it.

I also nearly gave away the idea of getting them and going air BUT they did come available and I got my set. Hang in there......

I guess my frustration is the total lack of response to phone calls and emails and a web site that never seems to be updated. Strange behavior for a company whose web site states

If they work more hours it must be in your time zone.

I will be patient as you suggest, unless I find another product and vendor who has an equivalent/better product.

Recently found the LADO products which look interesting.

Status: offline 		And did I read earlier that current models of these retracts will feature a loop in the wire for more flexibility? I'm looking for a set now,but am leary of thier flexibility for hard landings. I dont want them bending all the time like the cheaper ones,and without loops to give some spring action.....I'd be curious to know how easy they are to bend. GP retracts have 3 loops and I'd be curious to see how they compare to my cheap 1 loop retracts I have now that bend fairly easy. And what size wires to they use? Robarts are 3/16" which are heavier then cheap ones. Not sure what GP's are.

Status: offline 		I'm sorry guys! i have been very busy with manufacturing the Airfoilz planes and the guy I had producing the retract totally screwed me and I'm still in search of a new manufacture source. I have no ETA, but I'm try hard to get them made.
