Both are good retracts. I prefer GP .60 size mechanical retracts.

If you can wait for a few weeks, a new retract is going to hit the market sometime in Nov.

They are better than GP AND Dave Brown's

I designed them, and another RCU mod (who runs a CNC machine shop) is making them. I was just told this morning that they should be in production by the end of Oct.

I started making them 15 yrs ago (Geezze, can it really be that long ago?) when I worked in a CNC shop because I was tired of all of the crap retracts that were on the market. They are by far the best I have ever used.

Here's a short video that shows how nicely they work:

what is the strut lenght and size of wheel you will be using.if the wheel weighs too much and the strut is too long retract servo may not be able to raise the wheels.just a thought beforehand.

I've seen your video before, MinnFlyer, but I lost all info about. Do you have plans for 90° rotating retracts and for tailwheels? Please keep us posted. And best of luck.

Mike

Yup. They are machined from Aircraft-grade aluminum, they're not that cheap plastic crap

The final $ amount will be up to the Mfgr, but we're looking to keep it in the $50 range. Granted, it's more than the $20 plastic retracts that others sell, but they're worth every penny

Mike, I'm extremely interested in these retracts. I've been kicking around the idea of building a plane with reatracts. My Dad has used Spring Air, but I don't want to spend that much on retracts. I'd looked at the GP ones but had heard they were really weak. If yours are a nice middle ground I may just have to find a plane to put retracts on!
