ORIGINAL: vlizard Thanks people! Hey speed I am never in a hurry in a hobby shop just ask my wife ; ). I have just found that if you want what they don't have in my area of the planet that without fail the" you don't know whats best for you attitude comes out". I understand that a customer who wants something thats not on the floor is a pain sometimes and that the stock cost money but I am one person who wont put up with any lies, attitudes or anything else that's rude from anyone I am giving my cash to. I don't care if they are the only game in town even! Charge me extra for the service if you must. I can accept that. I won't tolerate any form of what I consider abuse. The problem as I have found after posting my first rant is that the LHSs near me are not run by the owners anymore, hence the Walmart service. Sorry for the rants. Thanks for your help though! I know I certainly don't take anything from any retailers either, however don't construe that as meaning I walk in rude, or chew out people who are not reponsible for something. I don't. But if something is not right, I will say what's on my mind and walk out of a store in a heartbeat if I get any attitude, and more people should do the same. Feedback is what gets problems fixed. Okay, if a guy's having a bad day and is obviously not very happy and is just struggling through the day and doesn't mean you any ill will, well that's just human. But if you get crappy or rude service, tell them, or tell someone. If the person is not the manager or owner, then find who is and let them know, or phone them. Too bad for the rude sales clerk IMHO. My wife got upset at me a couple of times when I vented off in a store, but she's toughening up now after having received the runaround at a few places. I carry to this day the memory of a trivial but relevant event, going back to an LHS in the small town near where I lived somewhere in my teens. I have always been a small engine fan, and I needed some higher nitro fuel for .010's and .020's. The store carried a line of now-defunct fuels that were made in 5%-50%. The store had nothing in stock from 15-35%, so I picked up a quart can of 15% and a quart can of 50%. Bingo, problem solved, 2 quarts of 32.5%! The guy asked what I was using the 50% for, and I told him I was going to mix them to make some higher nitro fuel for my small engines. He laughed, then yelled to his buddy somewhere else in the store, "hey ----, this guy's gonna mix his own fuel!" "Yeah right" or something similar said the buddy. And it was meant entirely sarcastically [sm=angry.gif]. In those days I was not as outspoken, so I didn't rip a strip off them as I certainly would now. But wish I did [doggone hindsight]. Anyhow, that was the last time I ever went in there. I guess justice was served, as they went out of business some time later. Having worked on the manufacturer's side of the table in the hobby industry since the late 1980's, I can say there are a lot of nice, intelligent, and reasonable customers out there. And providing good products and service to them is a pleasure. But know what? There are some total dicks out there too! Really! (surprise..) [:D] MJD p.s. [OT] how come when I click on a smilie when I am editing a message, it always shows up at the very end and I have to move it?
