I just wanted to let everyone know that I ran into MSG Todd Landen (from the wounded warrior program) at SEFF this past week. Man, the people at SEFF hooked him up. They passed around the bucket for donations. Between the pilots and vendors he recieved enough to get him flying and keep him flying for a nice long time.

Watch till the end for the 25% and 5% speed time stretch.
Mark can analyze what happened.
Me, I'd put a gyro on the ailerons, I'll be curious to know what caused the wing rocking.

Dave, awesome video!!! Not so great flying.

I think the damage will be easy to fix.

I'm at a loss as to what caused the wing rocking. It seemed to go away at high speed.

The crash looks like a stall, the model seemed to roll off to the right, sliding into the right gear, then whipped around. Talk about whiplash!

Had a blast on Sunday.

Good to see a lot of people flying at the field. The food was great and I don't think we could of gotten a nicer day for flying!

Team Wack-a-Mole is hard at work. Here is some of our previous accomplishments:
YES, that's Gary's voice in German in the beginning of the 2nd video (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

Guys,

Why don't we start an official FSA Facebook Page? It would be a lot easier to keep track of all the posts etc.

Why no to Facebook? It seems a ton of clubs have Facebook pages. It's a lot easier to track that a single forum thread.

I don't like Facebook for RC/Club use either. I don't know how it is restricted but people who are your "Friends" (which in my case is only relatives and college, high school buddies) can see what your posting. Plus my facebook account is really my houshold and not just me. Nothing is stopping someone from starting one, but I don't like the idea of it replacing RCU. RC is my GETAWAY from work and home life.....

Guys if you see my recent transactions on RCU, don't deal with the guy I bought the Sbach from. If you need more detail just send me a PM or talk to me at the field.

One issue with Facebook is that you have to have a Facebook account to participate- it's probably inevitable but not everyone has or wants a Facebook account.

It took at long time yesterday to prepare for flight... but Carlos' B-25 took to the air and flew great. A tad tail heavy, but we threw 6oz on the nose and she was right after that....

Boy was I ever nervous on that maiden flight.

I was wondering how compatible the JR11 channel radio and the Spektrum DX8 are with saving their flight programing to an SD card. I did not want to take a chance, so I did not try it during the radio switch.

An update on Todd,

As my surgery went south, things just really changed for us. I'm not even allowed to leave San Antonio or Brooke Army Medical Center. Aprel and Bri will be flown back to get Aprel's car and to load up our 6x12 enclosed trailer with as much stuff we'll need in the next year or so and a few planes.

Even though I thought I'd be on my way back to Benning today, I am now permantly assigned to Brooke Army Medical Center or Sam Houston Army Medical Center (changing the name).

As we met so many caring and concerned people and new friends at SEFF, I wanted to get an update out to everyone I could.

Our new address and contact data is:

MSG Todd Landen
Fisher House 4, RM 411
3623 George C. Beach Ave
Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234

(315)-222-4861/4862 (Todd/Aprel)

Hey Dave, the picture of the two people holding the pole during Sean's ribbon cut is the the married couple that was opposite me. I was holding the other end of their ribbon.

Don't know if you guys can see these pictures on a facebook page or not.
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.427143483975370.91508.186837451339309&type=1

I'm hoping people can view it w/o having to log in if you don't have facebook. These I think are set to public.

Gary at field this morning to do some filming of my bipe.
Even with mild Crosswinds, Gyro on the tail was handling it, and making this feel easy.
