GREAT WEATHER this morning. Had the Nieuport 17 out flying, but my head was just not in the game!
With a stroll in the field, I was able to collect my thoughts!

Considering it's a $3000+ radio (let's call it "ridiculously expensive") then $1900 (current bid) would only be considered "incredibly expensive". You'd have to work your way down to just "expensive" for me to get in the game!

PS - anyone going out to the field on Thursday or Friday?

If I go out to the field on Thursday my wife would probably cut them off... you know what I mean.

However Friday I might. Let me know if you plan on going and I will take the beast out

Btw, this is pretty cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=J8OtEoBXuxU#!

Watching "Billy the Kid Unmasked" on the Military channel, there pops up our club member Jerry Richards doing some testimony on photo evidence.

Are we planning an END-OF-THE-WORLD FLY-IN? It does strangely seem appropriate. With the end of the world fast approaching, maybe we should expire some planes on the 21st. Is there an exact time for the end, or is that to be determined?

What plane are you planning to bring for your last flight?

So if you think you are going to leave something around the shelter for someone to pickup and use.... don't let Gary and the Wack-a-Mole team get a hold of it...

More structural failure testing... how many stones do you thing it is going to take?

Thought I'd throw a few shots of Andy's Corsair up....this is gonna look great chasing Bob's Zero I ran into some issues early on with the fiberglass but that's all corrected and its smooth sailing right now. Hope to have it done by the end of the month.

Here is the most amazing thing that is done every year to Sean Tucker's plane. The tear down and inspection of the bird after the season is over. Please note the start and stop time. Complete tear down from plane to bones with an hour lunch in 6 hours

NICE. I will have some questions for you on some of these pics. I'm back onto finishing that T-6 (likely going to be an SNJ).

While I'm at it - I would really like to see the guys posting pics of their winter projects to keep me going through the cold weather....

Ended up throwing away the outer wing panels and opening up the center section, fixing and re-sheeting.
