I'm on the side of the fence that feels, If it is not broke then don't fix it. For what I fly my 72 does fine. If I had a 49% bip like Cecil or one of Kelly's big planes, yea I could see making the switch. This will be my 3rd year flying and I have never had a hit, ( and if I did my flying is bad enough that I did not notice).Besides if I get shot down, OH well. It is done and over with. Lets move on. Crashing is part of flying right?

Here are a few pics of the Cub that I have been working on. I have made some, a little progress on it. My next big step will be to see if it runs. I have not had it running in almost 15 years. Wow, time flys.
I went to the field today. I was going to try and get in a flight or two or three. The wind was up and the temps were down. I ended up just having lunch out at the field.

Looking good, Andrew. Getting nervous yet?

I've been dying to get out to the field this week, even if it is windy. But I've been just too busy. At least I've got something to work on at home. I finally found some nice leather for my Albatros' cockpit coaming and put it on tonight.

I would do some research on the XPS system before purchasing.
The other 2 R/C sites have some very long discusions regarding
the freq. hopping claims.

Here is one, many more to be found:

This company makes 2.4GHz transmitter modules for many 72MHz radios. Very competitive price-wise. The technology is supposedly superior as well.

I'm with Kelly. I have read too many negative comments about XPS to use it.

Guys have lost planes and apparently it is not actually frequency hopping.

Too many reports and unhappy XPS owners to blow it off as just internet retoric.....

Dave

Ooops, I just checked my info out, the 18' UAV did not fly with XPS, it flew with a JR10X with Spektrum module.

Sam - Thanks again for the stick time on the alpha - check out your low rates, I set them for better control on the slips.

George- If you read this, thanks for the Extra 300 time......no matter what you say....I'm no Aerobat pilot give me a single engine fighter or classic scaler !

Just love a warbird all dirty set up on final ! Look at that rudder input !
