I think I heard that for the first time back in college in the late 80's recorded onto a tape player.
"who gets the deer, me or the dog?"

I was thinking the same thing... "A few times?" .

You can also tell it's been around for a while. When was the last time you saw a phone booth you could get inside of? Another one of those "getting old" moments there. At least I didn't have some young wipper-snapper not get it because they didn't get what a phone booth was.

Nitroplanes is having a black friday sale. Here is a 5% coupon
http://www.mycoolheli.com/nitroplanescoupons.html

I noticed some of the sale items are small foamie kits and I have the parts from an "aheemm" crashed foamie kit left over

BTW, I got my GWS slow stick night flyer working. Did a test flight at the ball field by my house and I reworked some of the lights.
I'll try to get some video the next time I fly it and post.

Here is an idea for a stocking stuffer. This is the best micro heli that I have tried so far (only 2 others). It is very durable and flies where you direct it to. It is just as much fun flying indoors as my Blade CX. Although the CX is hands down much better. But a two pack of micro helis from costco for only $28.99 was pretty cool. Much more reasonable price then some of the other micro helis I have seen. The kid loves it. He crashes it a lot, but is learning. Check out the video.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. And with that treeline, if the wind gets going in the right direction, I imagine that you could get some amazing drifts right down your driveway. At least you don't have to shovel it all by hand.

I've been out a few times trying to keep the heat pump clear. On my small patio, there's not really room to move a snow shovel around it easily.

Ok, who is ready for some snow flying? I'm sure the field is in great shape for planes with skies.

I'm guessing the snow is a bit deep, but who knows.

Tell you what, you go on out there, and get some pictures, and I'll think about it. Given how the roads around my house look, Van Dusen should be all kinds of fun, never mind the driveway and parking lot.

I guess we are lucky. The guy across the street, his two sons have snow plows on there trucks. they plow in and out of our street. The down side is the county comes by and sees it plowed and thinks it has been done all the way through. WRONG, just to their driveway. Most of the roads here have been done, rt-40 and Rolling Rd look good. Some of the side roads still suck but not as bad.

I was going to go to Home Depot and get a bunch of yard sticks. I was thinking of making a set of skies for Big Orange. How cool would that be. A plane framed from yard sticks with skies made from yard sticks. I did not, I have so many projects going on right now I do not know where to start. I could get rid of 50% of them and still be a year behind.

I got my 4x4 drive fixed. I bet it will go through it. It's no fun if you don't try to get stuck.

When I last posted, I had just gotten back from running a quick errand. Our townhouse complex plowed once early in the storm, which left about a foot or so of snow and slush in a 1-car wide path, but that was enough to drive on if you knew what you were doing. And it helped that apparently several people in the complex just had to be somewhere, which helped as well. Of course about half of them obviously didn't know how to drive in the mess, and were sliding all over the place. One guy in a full-size contractor van with more than a foot of snow on the roof was fishtailing and sliding sideways going up the small hill to get out of the complex. I haven't seen that van back, yet, I would not be surprised to see it come back on a flatbed next week.

The roads around the complex are emergency routes, so they were plowed and salted. Still quite a slippery slushy mess, and lots of people going too fast and sliding around, but not a problem to drive in if you are careful, stay at a reasonable speed and control your power.

But nothing like where you live, Dave. I'm not surprised you hadn't been plowed, heck you might not get a plow back there until next week [:-)].

This morning, our townhouse complex came through with a front end loader and finished up the rest of the parking lot, so we have lots of bare pavement. and lots of melt-off-refrozen ice. My patio is seriously icy right now because of melting from the roof coming down right next to my front door. I'm putting down a ton of salt, but so far the ice is building faster than I can get rid of it.

About 3 hours on the skid loader and I was out. My old skid loader is
narrower then the cars so it takes a bit longer to do a double pass and
then clean up.

Checkers sure seems to be enjoying the weather, even if no one else is.

My parents have a Newfoundland that did the same thing, went out and found a snowdrift to take a nap in.

On the plus side, I've been getting stuff done in the shop for a change.
