Well, mine isn’t as pretty as clones but she gets the job done! This is just after my last race. The only aftermarket item is the chassis brace, that’s it.
The body has a few mangled holes from when it was a SP-1. When I upgraded to SP-2 I had to re-fit the body and make a few holes bigger. Plus the engine hole is huge to fit the Nova head for my OS and my Sportwerks .26 engine.

I've been racing for 21 years and wouldnt recommend putting red either......but to each his own....we all do things differently. First of all I don't know why Kyosho insists on putting cast knuckles...they are garbage....probably more cost conscious for the consumer but Kyosho is costly enough, so that boggles my mind. Good quality aluminum knuckles solve the problem. ie Fioroni or King Headz. Never have I had a screw come loose on a knuckle unless it was cast. Ran the entire Pro Series Circuit with Fioroni upgrades and never had a problem. But you are talking an additional $500.00 in Fiorini upgrades.....which is almost as much as a kit. Just for the knuckles you are talking about $90.00.

That's great guys- I hate to see anyone down due to problems. As for me----like I said " I'll never use blue locktite on the front knuckle bolts again!!!. After what happened at the races last week---red locktite on the front knuckle bolts is the only way to fly!!!

like you said ALLRC---"To each his own"----best of luck at your next races!!!

Integy sells machined knuckles for $30. They are sweet and work great.

Yo J Bone,
You used to race a sp1 before your sp2 right? Is the sp2 better performance wise? Im asking because Im thinking of buying the sp2 conversion kit for mine..

Those are the “Lotus70” guy off eBay. They work great and a few guys over on the S grid have used other parts from him and say they are good except for the steering knuckles.

Yes, I had the SP-1 first. I would recommend the SP-2. It does make a big difference and is more planted, especially on ruff/rutted or bumpy sections. One other thing I recommend to you is, get rid of the LSD front diff. On rutted or ruff tracks, it will make it twitchy and easy to loose control. The Boxed SP-2 comes with a regular front diff, but the upgrade SP-2 doesn't come with it. It's only $16 to do too. But if your track is flat and not to bumpy you will be ok with the LSD.

J-Bone - Have you compared the SP2 to the Kanai III? If so, did it handle similar to it?

I am asking because I have both the Kanai III and SP1 and I am still liking the Kanai III better. The chassie of the Kanai III is slightly longer than the SP1 but it sounds like the chassy of the SP2 will be similar in length to the KIII.

I never drove the Kanai III, but from what I heard it's similar to the Kanai but the steering and handling of the 777.

NO DISRESPECT BUT THE BLUE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THOSE BOLTS. AFTER USING THE BLUE AND LOOSING THREE BOLTS ( 2 DURING QUAL/1 DURING THE MAIN).
I WOULD STILL BE USING THE BLUE BUT AFTER THE THIRD BREAK DURING THE AMAIN I CAME OFF THE DRIVERS STAND AND RUSHED TO MY PIT TABLE. A FACTORY DRIVER CAME OVER AND ASKED WHAT HAPPENED---I TOLD HIM THAT I LOST ONE OF THE KNUCKLE BOLTS FOR THE 3 TIME---I GAVE HIM A FUNNY LOOK WHEN HE ASKED ME IF I PUT THREAD LOCK ON THEM---(THAT WAS LIKE SOMEONE ASKING ME IF I PUT A GLOW PLUG IN THE MOTOR.I TOLD HIM THAT I ALWAYS USED THREAD LOCK AND SHOWED HIM THE BOTTLE. HE RAN OVER TO HIS PIT AREA AND CAME BACK WITH A BOTTLE OF RED THREAD LOCK AND SAID" WE NEVER USE THE BLUE ON THE FRONT KNUCKLE BOLTS, IT'S NOT STRONG ENOUGH. USE THE RED." SO I USED THE RED AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS TO DATE WITH THE KNUCKLE BOLTS...

AGAIN---**********IMPORTANT NOTE*********

DO NOT USE THE BLUE THREAD LOCK ON THE FRONT KNUCKLE BOLTS.---USE THE RED THREAD LOCK.

THANKS AND GOOD LUCK

Clone3...if your going to use "RED" thread lock on everything , you are asking for trouble. the red is for a PERMANENT LOCK! You might get lucky and break some stuff lose once or twice , but after that , your going to start stripping threads and snapping bolts off. There is NO REASON to use red threadlock. If you are using the blue threadlock correctly , you should not have anything coming loose. What i mean by correctly , is use carb cleaner or something to that affect to completely clean the two surface's you are threadlocking before you apply it. I use blue threadlock on the front knuckle bolt and HAVE NEVER had one come loose...EVER! Like i stated before.the RED is for a PERMANENT ATTACHMENT , and if you plan on taking your buggy apart after the races or a good day of practice , your asking for trouble.

BTW......Even if it was a "pro" who told you this..HE'S WRONG! I run my buggy at practices with pro's all the time up here in the northwest , and NONE of them use red threadlock on anything. They aren't having anything else come loose on them either. I personally beleive that was some really bad advise , and he he was a super fast pro to begin with , he probably gets his parts for free and doesn't have to pay for anything. That's my .02 cents worth.
