well,

I've got 8 flights on the bird, and for the most part it's going well. Im have some problems with upline point rolls getting off track in a hurry that I just can seem to figure out, but will mess with tomorrow. I've also got a little bit of Roll coupleing and a downline mix yet to add. I hope to have 90 % of the trimming done by tommorrow. I pushed todays flights to 7 and 7.5 minutes and could really notice the drop in performance by the 7 minute mark. Kinda makes me wonder how bad things are going to be at the 10 minute mark !!

Bill

Bill check some of the graphs on RCGroup http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=342568 your still forming the batteries, they seem to get better after a few flights and it's good your keeping the flights short for now.
If you what a real challenge come up here and try it in the snow that we have had for 4 days and more coming LOL.

What voltage are you ending up at the end of the 7 minutes?

Bill,

For your upline rolls getting off track, you may want to check your aileron differential. I was able to get another four flights on my electric Genesis yesterday. Ron Barr also flew the plane. This plane rolls great. I can say this is probably the best rolling plane I have owned. Attached are my control throws. On aileron, I am only using 25% expo. From the photo, my differential is very slight. The aileron servo horn is almost at neutral.

By the way, I am using the TP6000 cells. With throttle management, I can fly the Masters pattern plus a few extra maneuvers in 8 minutes and only use 3200 to 3400 ma. We never went to full throttle until vertical up maneuvers.

Hope this info helps. In the spring, let's all get together for a Genesis practice session.

Good luck,

Steve K

On average about 19.10

I've got a copy of Chads excel sheet that I have been keeping track of things on, and I'll try to upload it here later tonight.

Well....just like Mike, over in the Genesis build thread in the pattern forum....I had my first boo boo tonight as well. In looking at gear plate inside the fuse, I noticed that the 3 holes for the gear were already marked with indentions....this must be pre-aligned right ?????........NOPE !!!. I think my gear plate was actually installed upside down, because the gear ended up mounting too far back, and once I had the gear on the belly pan wouldn't even come close to going on correctly. So now I did what I should have done in the first place which was to mount the belly pan, and then slide a gear half in and mark it !! You'll see in the pics below that the marks (with the holes) are to far back, and the one side that has the forward marks are actually the correct location for the gear !! This pics from inside the fuse show the blind nuts in place, which makes it kind of obvious that the gear plate was just mounted upside down !! :-( No biggie...just a waste of about an hour, and some minor frustrations.......no build ever goes perfect the first time !!!! :-)

Bill, quick question. Did your right a left carbon gear for the Genesis match. Mine have different angles (outward) from the fuselage and the face where the axles mount are at different angles. See attached pic. I emailed CA about this but no response yet. I am curious if I am the 'lucky' one or this is a common problem.

Don, it looks like you have two different legs. The angle can be fixed by heating the area you want to bend and then bending and holding in position til cool, but the thickness is much harder to change. Flex would be significantly different and your model would tend to list especially after a few landings.
