Well the one I am building is a 34% and I will get some done today. Been gone 4 days at work, got the rest of the covering from my friend and I am awaiting servos (sizing/location of the cut outs) and measurements for the cannisters. Should get the rear stringers on today and possibly start setting the wing and stab or turtledeck. Will post tonight..

I hope I get a chance since it is for a friend of mine. We are trying to keep it semi scale looking with the covering and paint. I am still waiting on the servo choice and cannisters for installation. I might just call DA and get the min: length and just build a larger box. Putting hatch together and will hopefully get some stringers on today, but alot is going on and I leave for work again tomorrow.
Always love pics of others work, even after 25yrs I learn a few things.

Thanks.
Thats the new Taurus 52 engine. Should be a great combo. I'm just waiting on the funds for Lithium Ion batteries. I need the whole setup with charger. It will be a little over $300.00 for me to get set up. I cant fly because of weather anyway for a while. It will probably be in Febuary before I can test fly.

Gleb,
I have two 18 oz tanks. The one on the left, or top, is the smoke tank. If you look close at picture #3 above, you can see the Sulivan Skywriter pump tucked behind the engine box side former.

I would keep the ignition battery away from the receiver battery to avoid interference. You may want to add carbon fiber landing gear and spinner if you want to lighten up the front end.

Scott
will do. sounds good on the thread. I bought this as a back up air frame just in case I have a mishap with my staudacher. It will be finished and covered but not equipped until I need it.

Like Steve said, watch for interference. You can see my ign batt was right next to the rx and my engine on range checks were great.
Try it if you have to just be sure to perform a thorough range check.

Has anybody out there tried to fit a cannister style muffler in the 27%, I am fitting a 3W 50 to mine and would like to keep it as quiet as possible, looks like it might be a really tight squeeze.

Yea really tight.. What you might consider are two diffrent routes for this airframe. First go get a cannister or even a full pipe and make a half channel on the belly for it. This way only 1/4th to 1/2 the pipe diameter will stick out the bottom. (gear plate will have to be split). Another is have a bigger in cowl muffler made for the engine. There are a few people that will build you a muffler to fit within your cowl specs and help keep it much quieter.

Here is a couple of photos of how I mounted my switches. I have 4 mounted. Two for the reciever, one for the ignition, and one for the smoke pump.

Scott,
How is the 34%er going?

Lot of switchs for a 27%er, I go one for one...The 34% should pick up some steam, stringers are on the bottom rear. Just got the Carbon gear so that will be set up, and working on the cannister box. Taking my time on the foward half, don't want to build it up and not be able to work.. I picked up a servo (5945) for the control surfaces so I should be able to make boxes and cut foam to inlay the box. Only off two days between trips this month so not much will get done in a hurry. Once the 12th hits I am off for Feb. so thats where the build will pick up. Must get some chores done first...
