that aint no joke Nexstar, if someone spends quite a bit of money like most of us do, then Tower should give us real discounts instead of the usual stuff.

You know, I have not meet a "perfect" person before! This is cool!! Someone who can magically live on an average income, without a home while he saves up for one. He has NEVER even been late on the credit card he uses, for years!!!! He has NEVER needed anything beyond normal living expenses. No accidents or health issues that run up huge medical bills. Even if insured, deductibles can run you more than 5,000-10,000 per year if you get unlucky. I know very few people who can write a check for that amount when checking out from a hospital stay. This is an amazing person! No doubt!

However, from his view point, if you have had medical problems pursue you many years, then you must be some sub human species. Everyone should be able to live the way he has. It must be very nice. "might learn something"? I think not. Not here.

I don't remember anyone mentioned anything about sub-humans... hmmmmm sounds like a tinge of envy going on there...

Going through life angry, resentful and jealous of others is precisely why many (most?) people simply exist. There is no such thing as luck. I almost died in a motorcycle accident when I was 20, I could have given up and played the "victim", probably my whole life if I wanted to... but instead , I looked death in the eye, flipped the reaper off and I picked myself up and overcame many obstacles that most would have not even tried to. At no time did I let it consume me despite pain and hardship. During that time I still managed to graduate college Summa Cum Laude. All too often people give up... when they do.. they may still be living, but they are already dead. Life is hard work... existence is not. Many people choose to exist because they don't have the energy or drive to live. Some people are dealt a bad deck of cards (health wise) but having worked close to the medical industry for many years... 80% or more health problems are lifestyle or situation related (i.e smoking or car accident while on cell phone). My bike wreck.. I chose to drink and drive.. stupid mistake and I paid for it.

No one is perfect... no one.

DP, you are damn right about picking yourself up and go at it again. I see so many folks live lives blame circumstances around them. Here in Houston, lately I've come across many stories about the Katrina refugees... oh excuses me... evacuees... blaming FEMA, blaming the host city, blaming the aide agencies for not doing enough to help them. Never once did they blame themselves for putting them in such pittiful situations.

so far about 3 of us or so use BML but we still get posts that are completely off the subject. I am not enveous of anyone who has more money than me. I am proud of them, really. I just thought it would be a good laugh to see all who had BML and how much they had on it or spend on the hobby. That is all.

I am 52 with two grown kids and a wife. You can call a child born with a breathing problem and wife with health problem that nearly cost her her live as not bad luck if you like. I have always picked my self up and took care of everything and NO ONE did with out anything they needed for school or college or time with us. Now to suggest that is is simple to go thru life without those things happening is B.S. Envy? Give me a break! I am laughing at you. Or who ever the perfect one is! I don't believe there is any such person, but if there is, he is very rare and it was LUCK that allowed him to go thru life without accident or health problems. Not something he achieved on his own. My point was about the ability to live off an average wage, raise a family, not own a house until you can pay for it, NEVER have to borrow anything, is something very few people would ever be able to pull off no matter how hard they tried. It was the perfectness, never making a mistake in paying a bill, that I was laughing at. It's not realistic. Just LUCK. There are a million things that could happen out of your control that could prevent you from achieving that. It's always cute when some one says "there's no such thing as luck". They are saying they can prevent anyone from harming them, prevent any illness from striking, and have nothing go wrong (that is out of his hands) with his source of income. B.S! Call it what you like, but there has to be some "luck" for that to happen. You are suggesting anyone can do it. Yeah, right! Envy? I don't envy anyone who lies to themselves.

Since the invention of the 'debit' card, I've managed to 'buy' for my hobby and NOT use a credit card...boy have things changed!!

Now if I can intercept that monthly 'statement' from the bank.......that stupid Horizon company keeps printing what I spend

No offense meant to you personally.. just don't get down on those of us who made different choices with our lives and had different outcomes...

No worries.. its all good.
