I've been running mine with a OS-91 2S and a 3-blade prop. I think I might be running out of vertical, but by then the plane is too far up to tell clearly...

Bob

Bob,
why are you running a 3 blade prop? Which one w/Dia & pitch?
thanks.

Hello Clytle,

You can try to unsubscribe, then resubscribe to this link. It has happened to me before and I think the cause might be my own fault. I've noticed that if you accidentally delete a notification before you've had a chance to click on the link, the site will not send you another email. You may have inadvertantly deleted an email reminder. Check your Deleted file.

Albsurfer, I'm running a 14x7 Master Airscrew 3-blade prop with a Dave Brown Ultimate spinner. I like DB Products because for a fee, those guys will cut the slots for the blades and they always come out perfect - especially if you are going for a 3-blade prop. It's a nice combination. I don't know if this is "the best" combination for this airplane, but I like it.

Bob

hey guys. my 65ax just does not seem to do the job for the more power hungry maneuvers. Getting 20cc DLE and need tips on installation and build guide....
thanks

I've noticed more guys at our field buying the DLE20cc because of it's power & lighter weight than other gassers. The price is good, too.
We had one guy using an OS 75AX, but he's switched to the DLE 20cc and seems to be happier, but he has it propped for speed more than aerobatic manoeuvers. It does make this plane pretty heavy in flight.

I thoguht about going with the DLE 20 but I made a HUGE mistake and went with the JBA 15....
If I put a nitro in my bird again I'll go with the OS 95 4-stroke

Well i ended up canceling my order on the edge and got the extra 60-90 for my dle, since had the install kit for the dle available with instructions and all..I loved the edge but im happy to try somthing different as well.
Never quite understood why the price on the 60-90s are 100 dollars more than the edge and its the same weight -wingspan and just about all the dimensions are the same for the most part

Was the 15 not enough? Just wondering since the 20 looks a little heavy.

If you love the idea of experiencing countless dead sticks and wish to spend months fiddling around with the HS and LS needles, then get youself a JBA. It STILL won't sound right after you've changed the carb (a dle 20 or 30 carb) and the muffler. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9609247/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

Oh thanks for the heads up on that. Been thinking about converting the Saito 100 I've got on it now to gas, but didn't want to gain the weight. Now I have someplace I'd like the Saito, but dead sticks are not an option at where I fly.

Has anyone actually used an OS FS-95? How does it compare to the Saito 100 is it still perfect for 3D? Im getting tired of my sluggish O.S. .55AX and would like more power but Saito 100 is so expensive

kinda risky but i got a saito 100 used for 90 dollars on ebay and runs great, had a little tarnish on muffler- other than that it was fairly clean and ran strong and flawlessly- i put it ona bigstik 60 for my father and hew flies the **** out of it.
Also magnum 91 was very cheap and was for me an absolutly excellent motor, slightly less rpm than my saito, but just barly and always starts on first flip and was a great combo for the edge imo..I would usally lean towards a 100 but if your comming from a 55 to a magnum 91 and you propped it with an xoar 15x6 you would have a very livly plane and prop it with a vess 15x6 and you will have pretty good speed and nice vertical and power for hovering.

Ive been waondering if this thing would do good with a dle 20, but havnt been able to find any one that has done this.Especially with all the buzz arround the dle 20 it sure seems to make a nice option for using gas on smaller planes with good results.

Any comments for dle 20cc setup? i hope we get some tips and experiences with it. it weighs 160+ grams more than the saito so i am guessing its not overboard on the wing loading.

Another question is if any of you know where we can find carbon fiber landing gear for this aircraft? aeroworks does not sell them and i am hoping it would help me with lowering my wing load.

Thanks
Taimoor

Maiden flight was today on my aeroworks extra 260.This thing looks and flies just like my edge i lost.
it needed absolutly no trim and was just trackiing so good and almost had neutral rudder yaw.
However i had to deadstick land it , and was actually pretty dam easy and floaty, but did come in a little hot on the runway and it touch down where it always does but then rolled off the runway into some rough ripping out the gear, easy fix, and plane was just wow for me!

clunkless fill line was going to the carb and the clunked fuel line was going to the fuel dot! .. DoH!
So my saito is still flawless, im glad the mistake was me!

i agree, i just paid for the extra 260 which really feels and looks alot like the edge accept the forward swept wing. And the COST was 275 or so.
I will say the plus to the extra 260 for the extra 80 bucks are
bolted cowl- blind nuts pre installed

2 peice wing with bolts plus cotter pins

Firewall predrilled with blind nuts installed

strings all run for servo extension routing

electric conversion kit

graphics were transfer tape type, not stickers

there may even be a thing or 2 im missing but after buying it im up in the air if its worth the extra 80 bucks..But the plane flew with 0 trim needed out of the box more less
most the the pre work done on the Qb's eleminate building error
I did have the measure and glue in horizontal stab tho and install stupid controlHORNS!

How is the weight compared to the edge? Not gluing the wing together is almost worth $80. But then I'm close to the priced of a 59" 3dhs AJ slick

I didnt actually weigh it this time.I will do but its stored at my dads house atm..
I can say im using an a123 2300 pack which was heavier than nicad pack i used on my edge and i think its the same or mayb slightly lighter, but i really would need to scale it for you.

oh and just remembered im using saito 91 in this and was using magnum 91 in the edge so theres probally the difference in the battery pack right there.
I started to just go look it up on the aeroworks web page ..but.. then i thought... nm lol

i dont know if you have flown a slick before btw.. but yeah in all honesty if your hanging on to money for that go for it.
the only reason i didnt get the slick in that size was because its listed under electric planes , and had a saito 91 and didnt know if it can handle a fourstroker . But i did have the oppurtunity to fly someones 71 Slick with gas engine and i was awesome .I dont know if the 59 will fly anything like it but nevertheless im sure it will be equally as awesome per plane size and whats to be expected from that class of model.

If your interested here is a youtube link to a scary maiden of my Ef yak 88
My bro filmed it with my i phone for a min or 2 and cut i off because it was low on batteries. By time i got it dialed in a bit i was able to some really nice 4 point rolls and awesome slow knife edges and harriers .
Since then i havnt flown it again but moved the battery back 4 inches and recheck balance to find it was balanced better there, it was extremly nose heavy " dont know how this happened" but it did

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqI4Cu0wuNc&context=C41f65bfADvjVQa1PpcFPmNaIAyx9Agypo80EKHSgbmMLP9ov3AQw=

Brother was talking silly while filming trying to be funny - forgive him, he was carrying on this video skit he did with that voice that was absolutly hilarious, but i could have done with out it on my maiden lol

I've got a 42" slick and love it, but the edge has more 'character'. There is a thread somewhere on putting a Saito 82 on a 59" Slick, he boxed in the motor mount and a few other things. But says it holds up fine.

sweet deal. Were you planning on going glow with it?

BTW. i just found out in reference to my scary maiden on my ef yak
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqI4C...nfCsx00dy8H4uE=

My new aurora 9 radio does there expo the opposite of the radio i have been using forever.
I had 70% expo dialed in on ailerons and 65 on elevator and on this radio it should have been -70 and -65
Thats a 140 and 130 % turn arround
No wonder i was freaking out on its sensitivity
Crazy thing is- i knew it was nose heavy as hell but seemed pitch sensitive to some degree as well, so ive been scared to pull that cg back
In reality i was using higher throws than i ever have before in combinations with a an extremly sensitive expo setting
Cant wait to go back- and get my confidence back

I just finished my 540 and put my OS55 in.  I find a 13x4 best with relatively a lot of power, can hover near full throttle.  I'll probably looking for something for something a bit larger soon.  I'm surprised it still seems the CG is a bit forward with this engine.

O.S. 55 is sweet! Its on my AW .46 - .60 ProX260 QB "Freestyle"

I would love to mount this on my Edge 540T http://www.osengines.com/engines-airplane/osmg0900/index.html or wait
until O.S. introduces a 15cc gasser.
